  • to the dentist today- costing a fortune - just under £200. Was there when there was a sudden "dentist, it's urgent" - someone had collapsed in the chair and had to be rushed to hospital, so fortunately she was taken to hospital and was okay, she'd had a serious anaphalactic (sp) shock to the latex... She was looked after by the 2 dentists until the ambulance arrived to take her away.

So I was delayed by 30 minutes and lost £200. And that's on the NHS - dread to think the cost privately.
But, should mean teeth are better and hopefully the woman makes a full recovery

  • They also said that you can suddenly build a resistance to latex, even after years of being non resitant... Something I never knew, I figured you were either born with an allergy or not.

  • Came across this saying today:
"A bank manager will lend you an umbrella on a nice sunny day - but will want it back just as soon as it starts raining"
    Made me smile :)

  • You're not kidding.

I think the thing with allergies, if you're unlucky, is that each exposure makes you a bit more sensitive.

  • Half term - looking forward to a rest and a bit of hard work - getting the balance right is hard. At least with friends, it makes it a little more enjoyable! Hope all the other teachers are having a great rest :)

  • Still resting up, having some odd spending days - have bought food for everyone on line, meaning i've spent loads more than I would, but will get the money back later on. Anyway, it will result in a more expensive month, but when all money is back I can roll over into a decent March. Hopefully a no spend day today, am not leaving the site except for a walk, so not much scope to spend :)

  • Yippee! Stuck oop north with lovely friends, another no spend day - apart from the huge tesco orders we've already made. We've taken it in turns to cook for each other, which means that we are now living it up as we cooked the first night (MOM and myself) and we're going out for a meal on Friday. Winner. So it's just watching the cricket and dreaming dreams, a lovely half term. Weather is traditionally wet for the region - no surprises there!
