I dont know about that, I've managed to lock em up at 30mph on mine (then again, I adjust the brakes weekly if the cars seen any real use)Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Hi
Just wondered if other car drivers wave at you if you have the same car and pass them in the road?
Obviously you wouldn't if you had a popular car like a Focus or Audi A3 (far to many about to wave at everyone!!)
When I pass other people who have the same car they often wave! Happened to me this morning on the way to Sainsbury's. I waved back (didn't want to appear rude!)
Seems a strange thing to do, I suppose they are just being friendly! Anybody here wave at other drivers?
On the rare occasions when I'm in the A3 I don't wave at other A3 drivers as I have only come across one other 3.2l quattro A3 when I've been out driving and one doesn't wave to those in inferior models... really, one has to keep ones standards...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
But seriously, when I'm in my own car, I don't wave, as has already been said my hands would never be on the steering wheel...... yes my car's dead [STRIKE]common[/STRIKE], popular!:(In giving

LR owners, at least of older vehicles, will often go much further than just waving. If you stop at the side of the road, you will often get other drivers stopping to check if you need fuel or a tow. I've towed people home before now, and been offered a tow or a jerrycan more than once.
One mate of mine even loaned his spare wheel to someone (and got it back!)
I even stopped to help a J**p once, but it was dark and no-one saw me :rotfl:
I've got a 1979 Series 3 Land Rover (ex-army soft top) and in France I'm always getting other LR drivers waving, notes left on the windscreen and
even gift of bottles of wine from other LR drivers. Cheers :beer:0 -
it used to happen when i had my capri, folk would stop and talk to me in most car parks, the usual statement was either "i had one of those" or "my dad had one of those".
it did happen once when i had just bought my focus,it was brand new only a few days old and a girl heading towards me was driving the exact same model in the same colour with the same 3 door model as mine, the reg was only a few letters out aswell,so she looked at me in amazement and waved like a nutter at me. at first i was trying to work out if i knew her, then realised the similarities....work permit granted!0 -
Waving at other drivers- its happened a couple of times when I am in the grand vitara with the roof down. But there is something in the chrysler pt cruiser owners handbook that says you must wave/flash your lights at other pt cruisers! Always happens when in my partners pt cruiser."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

I like to flash in my MINI Clubman
There's not many of us around. I slow down and make the kids wave at other Clubmans on the motorway

years ago a friend of mine had one of those cars that looked like upside down prams??
and other people in them always waved at each other0 -
One time my mate was giving me a lift in the 'wide-mouth frog' Ford Scorpio he had at the time and exchanged a wave with a guy coming the other way in another one. Made me chuckle. I think it's more likely in cars such as that with, shall we say, niche appeal.
I've got a fairly distinctive and uncommon version of my particular model but I've never given a wave on the odd occasion I've spotted another one. I might give a big grin and thumbs-up next time to see what response I get!0 -
No, I don't do it but in the past I have had the odd wave in a few old cars, no ideal why and just put it down to the fact my car looked so nice - LOL0

As others have said it's mainly older, rarer or special interest car drivers that do this.
When I had my twin-turbo Subaru Legacy B4 RSK, I used to wave at other Scoobies, Impreza drivers generally didn't know !!!!!! but the odd turbo Legacy I'd encounter they'd usually wave back, unless they were being driven by an old duffer. I suspect it's probably a lot harder for the Legacy brigade these days as the bonnet scoop that adorns the current generation of Legacy B4 also got used for the diesel.
I'd wave at people driving my current car but I'm yet to see on on the road.0
