Waving at drivers who have the same car as you?!
Hi
Just wondered if other car drivers wave at you if you have the same car and pass them in the road?
Obviously you wouldn't if you had a popular car like a Focus or Audi A3 (far to many about to wave at everyone!!)
When I pass other people who have the same car they often wave! Happened to me this morning on the way to Sainsbury's. I waved back (didn't want to appear rude!)
Seems a strange thing to do, I suppose they are just being friendly! Anybody here wave at other drivers?

Have you ever driven a campervan/mobile home?0

I wave at my old car. I don't know how many new owners it's had, I don't pay any attention to them and just wave at the car. I'm sure they're wondering why people/a strange woman keeps waving at them.0

Or a three wheeler ... Reliant0

Dangerous if you drove a series 3 BMW. You'd never have your hands on the steering wheel.
I just do the manly 'nod of the head' in their direction.0 -
Lotus drivers always give a flash of the lights or a wave. Used to be a web forum where people would post about the miserable so and so seen in a particular Lotus at a certain location who didn't wave...0

Always used to wave and get waved at when we had a Citroen 2CV. Think that was sometimes out of sympathy.
The only other similar reaction was with a TR7 when it was common courtesy to flash the pop up headlights at one another.
Now in my little black non descript boring box nobody loves or cares enough to wave, toot or flash. As compensation though I do sometimes get a show of one or two fingers.0 -

what make of car are you driving?
i thought i was really popular when i drove my OH's subaru impreza and was a bit deflated when i realised it wasn't me but the car getting the attention.
i still find myself waving to subaru owners which really confuses them because am driving a nissan:o

I waved at my mum's old Carina once, when I saw it coming down the road when I was waiting for a bus.
I remembered she p/x'd it when I got a weird look from a stranger
OP, what car were you driving?!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
