Back in the days of owning the old Saab 95's, 96's and 99's owners always used to acknowledge each other, now they are no longer enthusiasts cars and just common or garden higher spec motors I assume people that own them don't demean themselves.

Excellent! A fellow sierra fan!! I only just got rid of my saph, it was a 2.3D and I just couldnt handle how slow it was any more. good reliable car though and I'd have another (faster) one any time.
I've been running old volvo 740s for a while (because they are practically worthless) and whilst I've never been waved at by someone in another 740, I have noticed them checking mine out as I check theirs out- they are getting thin on the ground now.
Only time I got waved at was about 4 years ago, I had a Rover sd1 V8 and caught up with a mint condition 2600SE SD1 on the motorway, we both gave each other a thumbs up! kind of a "yes, we both have an odd choice in cars..but it IS our choice!"
My mate's got a 1964 cadillac..about 19ft long, fins and chrome jobby. that one draws so much attention its just embaressing.
  • Rover SD1 - what an awesome motor :)
  • I wave at other Scimitar owners, though they're like hen's teeth around here.

Exactly. The American auto makers just loved that.
Istr that the majority of the so-called 'rogue throttle' incidents were numpty drivers or those trying to get their names in the papers/tv. Ie, just plain liars.

It was- '81 on a x plate and almost pristine, having had 2 fastidious owners. it was the main reason I sold it- I could just about handle the fuel consumption-with that exhaust note you'd forgive it anything- but it broke my heart seeing it deteriorate as I was using it as an everyday car. It's now with a loving rich owner where it belongs.
