The only phone we do have left now is my old works phone which is very worn but has been a godsend for my FIL whiles MIL has been in hospital away from us. The other one is a very nice Motarola we use when we have Danish visitors but I must have chucked the charger out thinking it was the same as our other chargers (standard mini usb) sadly its not.

Hi TG, I've just been wandering round the net trying to find somewhere to re-cycle my old chargers, Anyway, while doing that I noticed that you can by charger adaptors, i.e. buy a motorola end to add to a nokia charger. Just had a quick peak on ebay and there seems a lot of choice and selling for a couple of quid; I didn't know you could get them so thought it worth mentioning to you

Thanks that's really useful to know however I now have a much bigger problem my broadband has gone down and they are sending an engineer Wednesday afternoon. That is such a long time but the first time I can be home to let them in. Anyway decided work could pay for a dongle top up as it would have cost a lot to keep me in coffees and drinks to get free wifi.

Just celebrated getting back online by ordering my Coob assesories as DH said he would pay for them which is very nice as they are £82. Now its so lovely and sunny we had planned to do a BBQ yesterday but that did not happen. I managed to get off my meeting 45min early so phoned home to see if I needed to pick anything up for our BBQ. DH told me his mother was on her way back home in an ambulance so we needed to pick up some medi aids and bring over to them. Rats I thought not what I wanted to do at 5pm on a sunny afternoon. I therefore had a plan to go and pick it up on my way home and then let DH take it over without me. Great get to the hospital to find MIL fed up as she has waited 2 hours for the ambulance. I get FIL to speed things out and we are then told it could be 8 or 9pm before they are ready. This is so silly so when they ask if I can take her I of course say yes.

Unfortunately I could not take her and the medi aids incl a zimmer frame so had to get DH to come down to take that and eventually after having waited 40 min for a porter to take us to the main entrance we made it out of there. Dropped her off etc etc and by the time we got home the sun had set so no BBQ. Still I could not have left her in there she has been stuck in hospital for 2 1/2 weeks so that must be enough.

Today a bit of shopping and finding a 50th birthday present. Then dinner with said birthday boy tonight should be good.

Had planned to go out for breakfast so I could use the free wifi but that is not needed now thanks to the dongle.

Hope you all enjoy the lovely sunshine.

Home from HQ visit all went well my team is now off for 8 days all expenses paid trip around the med on the company Yatch sadly I missed out drew the short straw. Heyho at least I wont get that many email from the boss as she is going but I am now looking after the whole of the UK not just my 1/3 hopefully there wont be too many problems.

Our Cobb assesories arrive tomorrow cannot wait to try it out they call us today as they had the wrong postcode.

In other spending news BIL Skyped and suggested we come to South Africa instead of the in laws (they cannot go now). He owns a 1/3 share in a house on the golf course (we have been before and its lovely) plus an 1/8 share of another property in a game park with a golf course too. He had got both back to back for 2 weeks in Janaury. We are so tempted yes the flights are £1300 for the two of us but we would not have to pay for accomendation but all food as he is so tight. We could most likely borrow his car so I dont think it would be that much.

Lots to think about chilling out with the telly now.

Brother in law has been back he has this two properties for 1 weeks each so if we arrive around the 14th January that would take advantage of both. He is about to move in to his own new massive house so would like to spend some time there too may need more than 2 weeks. I have 5 days left this year and dont think I will use that as we have so much time off at Christmas when we are shut. That would make it doable for 2 1/2 weeks in SA then 2 weeks in Denmark in Summer possible just 1 week for DH in Denmark but that would work well for me.

Flights looks like £652 with VIrgin or SAA both do not charge for clubs. DH is seriously keen just need to go ahead from FIL that he will look after the bussiness feels bad as they we due to go but when she fell they can't. I am sure he will say yes cannot wait to start planning it. Will try to find some links for the properties so you can have a nose.

This would be the 2nd week his is on of the large syndicate homes right on the golf course I think it sleeps 8 and it has jacuzzi on the deck. There is also a main restaurant and bar plus free game rides to the resort.

    This is the 1st week
    http://www.selborne.com/index.html

He has a 3 bedroom place just 5 min from the 1st tee. THere is a hotel and a lovely club house plus private beach club down the road. Sadly loads of sharks in the sea but there is a shared pool 2 min away.

Seriously cannot wait now to hear what FIL says hopefully we are in his good books at the moment.

FIL says yes:j:j:j:j:j:j just trying to convince DH we need to go for more than two weeks. Getting quite excited now but DH needs to sort out cover for the company.

Been to the gym was good to be back. Then cooked steaks on the new griddle for the Cobb but it was too dark to really do it. Still tasted good but I think that will be the last time this year.

Wow times flies things to a bit on an unexpected turn this weekend. My friend who works full time lives on her own and is 9 years younger than me suffered a bit of a breakdown on Friday. She ususally does not call me and leave a message in tears so when I managed to listen to the message I realised things were really wrong. She was at that point meeting with one of the directors at the company she works for and said she would then call me back.

I know she self-harms and suffers from Bullimia (you would not know unless she told you by the way) but she also works such long hours that it boarder on insanity. She has not taken a holiday for 3 years and everytime she books some time off she cancels it for they do. Totally wrong of course but the company has really bad staff morale and also the other director is a bully towards he and nobody else. Friday evening she finally decided to come and stay with us and she did so until Monday. She was a lot better by the time she left and she is now going to see a friend in the West Country and visit her family. (She only has her dad left, mum died when she was 12 and she had no siblings).

I actually managed to get a lot of stuff done over the weekend and we had quite a nice time going to Ikea, the garden centre, town shopping etc. Bought some sprouting purply brocoli and got those planted (put net over them to avoid cat accidents).

Really suffering with flees dispite having drops for cats and spray for the house, drives me mad as I get bitten and DH does not.

Hectic week Weds to Fri saying away and then Friday girlie night in at Neighbours look forward to that one.

Should be oncourse for 3 free nights in Premier Inns but needs to be carefull with the cheap rates as £29 does not count and the premier saver cannot be cancelled which messes up my diary.

In other news drank far too much Friday night but did make Zumba Sunday morning at 9am. Actually went to the gym 3 times last week will try to go this evening and then Sunday that might be it for this week.

  • Hi TG,

Just wanted to say fab goal (I was one of the MFiT gang if you don't recognise me :))

I was wondering about a pensions type MFiT challenge. Are there other MFiT-ers around? Do you think they'd like it? Or am I opening myself up to a whole heap of trouble :)

Are there any pensions where you can pay in £1.61 etc ;)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Hi TG

How you getting on with persuading your DH to go to SA for more than 2 weeks? Those links you sent look absolutely amazing!

BTW, sorry to show my ignorance but what is a coob, I even googled but to no avail :o

Got another question for you, if I remember correctly you were thinking of getting DH an electric cigarette thingy, did you get it and if so what does he think of it as was thinking of it myself
