Wont get any more things done now as this week is manic. Monday night at HQ, tonight away as well, back tomorrow and then have to empty suitcase to pack for Denmark. Friend and I set off at 9am Friday morning back Tuesday. Wednesday 7.30am I fly to Leeds. Hectic but look forward to Denmark and spending time with friends and family.

Need to print out the MS for the airport also got one for tomorrow night (saves cooking dinner) but I think the site is down. Have to do it when I get back.

Gosh what a week it has been have slept in 5 different places the last 7 days and off to HQ today for two nights.

Let's go back a bit then, Denmark was lovely everyone was so different than last time and my Scouse friend was a big hit bigger than my husband usualy is. They all spoke English with her, usually some cannot be asked when I come with DH. Not sure I will go over for New Year now will have to think about that one.

Got back Tuesday on the train back from Gatwick spoke to DH who told me his mum had fallen on holiday in Devon and broken her hip. She is now in hospital in Plymouth. His dad was with her but he does not have a mobile phone. Anyway got back home from the airport at 10.30pm and had to get up the next day at 5am to travel to York for work. Great so so tired. York conference was very good got back shattered on Thursday evening spent Friday working from home eventhough I should have travelled to a meeting 2 hours away. Friend who came to Denmark with me came over Friday night and we then get an update from Plymouth operation went well to replace hip but they are keeping her until Wednesday. Decided we needed to go down there for the weekend.

Managed to get the last room in a Premier Inn (one of my free nights) so saved £110 so expensive due to Americas Cup. Spent the weekend down there saw both of them and to be honest it was the right thing to do. MIL is getting better more clear on the Sunday but still very confused at times. Thought about your mum TPA same kind of thing happended to her in hospital didn't it.

Left them about 1.30pm drove the 3 1/2 hours home. Chilled out for a couple of hours then off to In Laws house to sort the post out, water plants and move bed downstairs. Gosh do they have a lot of clutter. Would drive me mad living there. Managed to make a reasonable bedroom for her to return to when she comes back in the downstairs study.

Working from home today, but have to be at HQ 9.30am tomorrow, so have to leave today. Then Tuesday drinks after work before meeting at HQ Weds but wont be that late back here at least.

Not spent that much this weekend (well DH has) handy with the free hotel and I don't my private mileage could have done with a weekend at home though. Hopefully in laws will be back in Hants by Wednesday.

PS deleted Farmville off my PC & Ipod that will save me some time.

OK thats another week out of the way and a long one too. I am so behind on my targets now at work that the others are going to start looking after my area. I am not sure how I feel about that I know I have the largest patch in terms of work not size but still.

MIL is still in Plymouth she is progressing well but they have not moved her. FIL has gone back down again I guess they will just send her home now. Problem is he has crashed his car so its being repaired and he is driving her little rubbish old car which is not going to be nice to sit in for 3 1/2 hours. I just so hope we don't have to go back down there again.

Been quite active so far today, went to the bottle bank then Tesco had breakfast in there too. Since our MS in there I have realised its quite nice and only £7.95 incl latte's for the two of us. Shopping done incl work cartridges which earned me 500 extra points. Then off to Macro to get sweets for a sweet stall I am doing in a couple of weeks for work. Also got a whole fillet of beef to cut into pieces for (yes you guessed it) the Cobb. £34 for a whole one not sure how big it is but will do lots of meals. Also got 2 fillets of pork something I use a lot and Tesco and Sainsbury both charge £7 or 8 per kilo whereas Macro is £4 so a lot cheaper. Hopefully my freezers will be ok now I have given some homecooked ready meals to FIL. We shall see might have a tidy up in there.

As we spent quite a bit we got stamps to buy pans and knifes at 80% off. I quite fancy a stir-fry pan with glass lid at £15 down from £79 due to the stamps. I actually dont have one that large. Will do a bit of googling before I buy it.

Then went to Petsathome and got a catflap. Just the standard cheap one not the microchip one as no one comes in here. Wanted to get Frontline as well, they did not have us on their system and we could not be bothered to wait. I know we have bought it loads of times from there and they were expensive so will find it online or get the combo one from the vets like last time.

Fitted the flap and did the lawn which was so so hard as it has not been cut for weeks. I asked DH to do it while I was in Denmark he never did and last weekend we were not here. Done now but needs another cut ones its a bit drier.

Totally utterly broke as I cleared some 0% interest credit off and work has not paid my expenses they owe me about £400 and they put it with the credit card receipts not the cash ones.

The rest of the weekends plans are

    - bbq tonight
    - order Frontline for cats (thanks for MS Pet Forum got it for £34 for 12 Pets at home wanted £54 free delivery too)
    - put up prints in lounge done looks really nice shame it took so long to get there.
    - sort wardrobe out - find winter clothes.
    - possible list some stuff on Ebay
    - cut the meat up and freeze
    - chill - done

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Finally the pictures I got from my dad last Christmas has got new frames (via Cornwall) and are now on my wall. The artist is Danish Villy Daugaard friend of the family and I used to model at his art class on a Saturday morning. He painted them in Rome when during two periods he painted down there they are off old buidlings. The are litographic prints and one offs really. Nice to see them in my house and I am sure my dad are not missing them one bit he has so many others.

  • Hi TG,

Well done on how your to-do list is progressing, you are putting me to shame. That said I have nearly accomplished a few tasks today that I should have done months ago and which no doubt has caused me to lose a few pounds by delaying

I've spent a few hours today sorting through 4 old mobile phones. Two are all done and dusted and just waiting for the company to send me through the freepost envelope. I've used Mopay in the past who were very good but I've decided to give Sainsburys a try this time so the two phones should net me £12. I did see another site who offered £2 more but decided to go for 'the big company' in the hopes that they are more reliable than the other one if you know what I mean.

I've just about finished deleting old stuff off the other two phones, why oh why do I leave these things to build up! One of them should get me £7 and the other £50 so that will be great. The only thing is that on the £50 I have a lot of texts on there with sentimental value which I would have loved to have kept but I've tried every which way and googled all over the place but I just can't see that it can be done so I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just delete them :(

Your prints look lovely and so nice in that setting, I absolutely love Rome, I think it is just about my favourite place. Are you and DH still thinking of going to Barcelona? If so drop me a line and I'll let you have a few recommendations

Hope you are well TG, things sound hectic :o

Well done on the phones abouttimetoo we sold one on Sainsbury not that long ago I althought they were not the best price I preferred them and we had no problems. I am the same with not getting around to doing things like that and all of a sudden the price has dropped. The only phone we do have left now is my old works phone which is very worn but has been a godsend for my FIL whiles MIL has been in hospital away from us. The other one is a very nice Motarola we use when we have Danish visitors but I must have chucked the charger out thinking it was the same as our other chargers (standard mini usb) sadly its not.

Just read your diary well done on sorting the tax out, I hate having to deal with things like that you just feel so helpless. In my team we all used the have the same company cars but our tax codes we completely different. That really cannot be right they should count as the same for the car thing.

No plans to go back to Barcelona just yet (do love the city) maybe a trip to South Africa BIL has just moved into this amazing huge house so seems a shame not too.

Off to London for 1 meeting so better get off now. Quite look forward to it its right in the centre so may have a quick look at the shops nearby actually need a new diary which work can pay for.

Hope you all have a nice day.

    Hi TG

Hope you had a good trip to London and managed to pick up the diary you wanted. The trip to SA sounds great, particulalry if you can stay in BIL huge house ;)

Yes, the tax thing has been a nightmare and I don't mind admitting the last few times I've spoken to them I've been close to tears just through the sheer frustration of not being able to control it and the ever changing figures and knock on effect on my salary, as you say you just feel so helpless and I did in fact cry after one particular call, again not because of girly upset just sheer frustration.

Good to hear you mobile phone went well with Sainsburys as it's always a worry when you try someone new for things like this. On that note would you believe I found a further three this monring, I'm absolutely disgusted with myself

Ps, TG would you mind telling me how to upload a photo to here please as I'd like to post one on my thread. Thanks in advance

Abouttimetoo that is just not right they should make you feel like that but I am exactly the same can handle everyone else's problems just not my own when its to do with tax. At work we use http://taxaid.org.uk/ but I think you have to be on a low income to use them but there might be a calculator to help you too.

As for uploading pictures the hard way to do it is to sign up with something like photobucket, upload your pictures there and then use the little picture tag about the reply screen looks like a postcard with a mountain on it copy the link from photo bucket and then hope for the best. I find that a faf so I use facebook. I upload my photo to my facebook album use normal copy (on the mouse or ctrl V) and then paste in the reply here it works for me.

Had a good time in London apart from a new person a work dumping a load on me that she had not got around to doing. Claiming I had to do it when actually it was her and the best way to do it was to pick up the phone. I did it and sorted it all out so not too bad in the end just don't like that kind of thing where someone claims they should never had had to do it in the first place. Never mind. Almost sorted for the next two days workwise just cannot find one bit of information so I hope someone will email it to me. Need to pack an overnight bag as I am heading down the West Country again.

MIL is now finally in a hospital near us after 2 weeks in Plymouth so going to visit her in a bit. Then quick takeaway and chill. Need to get the packing done so catch up later.
