    Hi TG

Hmm, how is the application itself being submitted e.g. on paper or electronically? I would be tempted to do covering 'letter' in same medium as the application I think. My own company has a a box on the application to account for such eventualites whereby you can state when you are not available for contact, on hols etc.

Good work though getting your app done today, it's a horrible job and always seem to take 10 times longer than planned for :o

By the way TG, I've just replied to a new poster called Wiwo and he was enquiring about MS's, hope it's ok but I've suggested he pops in here and asks your advice as you seem to be a longstanding whizz at them, I'm constantly amazed at how many you seem to rack up :D

I can send it by email or letter and I might do both as the lady who's email is used is not in the same office as the rest. There is no box for such eventallities would have been handy though. Just checked by contract I only have to give 1 months notice whereas they have to give me 4 weeks plus 1 week per year I have worked there.

Anyway will wait f or my friend to check it and then send it off sometime next week well in advance of the closing day. When I have lunch with the current post holder I will ask her various things about working hours, holidays, mileage allowance as none of this is the advert. The salery is also writen as c £30,000 and its flexible if you wish to take up full time. I might have room to negotiate my current manager got an extra weeks leave I could fancy that instead of a pay. Anyway off to play golf with a very reluctant DH. Its a bit damp and windy here and I have done something to my shoulder. Still should be nice to get out there.

So wet playing golf DH was not happy but we did do it and it was not too bad. Played quite badly and have pulled my back a bit but played with a physio and she told me how to strech it out. Think I over did it when I used my laptop on my lap for hours yesterday writting that application.

Friend came back to say she has amened a few things so they read better and that I have misunderstood question 11 so need to change that. I agree with that so will ask the lady I am having dinner with tomorrow what she suggest I put down she is quite good at that sort of thing and in the same kind of area as well.

Had a chat to DH and he is happy for me to change jobs would quite like me home a bit more (well nice isnt it) Anyway shall send it off on Thursday as I have two nights in a hotel this week.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

OK the deed is done, email with attached application sent explaining I am not there on the 3rd plus a signed copy sent to address. Having lunch with the current holder next week so will find out more about the job. Just done my stats and an update on my current area over 430 organisations in my 16 counties what bliss it would be to just have 1 county. Still mustn't get ahead of myself.

Oh dh is home I got him an electronic cigarette off Groupon lets see if he likes it. Will be back in a mo

not a total failure but I dont think he is sure about them either. They do emit smoke so I don't think you could use them in non smoking places still they would be better for him

Back to the application I think I have done as well as I can and I would be surprized if I dont get an interview shame that its right in the middle of my holiday hopefully they will do it before I go. Who knows. They may be on holiday too.

Off for my 2nd bootcamp in 2 weeks should have done 3 by now so a bit of a waste but still next week I can do 2 I hope. Looks like rain but actually not too bad now. Must look up where and what time I need to be there. Friday tomorrow real bliss just need to do a phone feedback (actually for the place I am applying for the job - unrelated but to do with my main job).

Hope you all have a nice evening.

    Goo luck with the application.

Re the electronic cigarette, yes you can use them in restaurants - it isn't nicotine smoke, so there shouldn't be a problem. A friend of mine uses one and never been challenged about it once she's said that it's a electronic one.

And it really helped her give up!

Thanks Bugslet that is really useful I didn't know you could do that.

Loved bootcamp last night it stayed dry and we did lots of boxing in a park right across the water from the golf course. Very nice indeed. I can actually do two session next week then two weeks away and that should give me 2 weeks when I get back. Better get more in as so far I have paid £24.

Working from home today, not got a lot done although I have just come back from town and had a haircut plus found the last few things I needed for Denmark. My sisters birthday present and some final stuff for the kids.

Lovely day today makes a real change.

Just lost a long post ranting about how much I hate my job after talking to my manager on the phone.

Had lunch with the current post holder for the job I am applying for she thinks I would be good for the post but also think I would be better staying where I am in terms of what I already have.

We had a nice chat and I found out a few things such as the team is nice her line manager is nice and how she got to get the job without any project management experience. She actually had to take a paycut in order to get it but she did use to work for HQ of the organisation so had knowledge of the subject.

Anyway as we were saying goodbye (she is leaving the country) she said dont get too despondant if you don't get it ask for feedback. They do rely a lot on the application form and that's how they select for interviews. I know she has seen my application form (not sure if she had read it) as I posted it to the office and emailed it too. Apparently I am the only one that has posted it the other have emailed but this lady would not know how many have applied as its not her that get those emails.

Well not feeling that great to me honest but hey ho doing bootcamp tonight then off for a bite to eat with my gym mate from next door. Then only 1 more working day left before 15 days off CANNOT WAIT NOW>

As you say you gave it a go, maybe something else will turn up later that would suit you even better.

Enjoy your holiday and just seen your siggy line - hope you got down to your goal weight.
