Weezl and friends Phase 3 - sitting pretty with Kitty

Sami,
I'd just poach them in a bit of water to make the stock, with some peppercorns and anything else I could find in my spice cupboard, weigh out the required quantity of meat then either use the leftover chicken for lunch the next day or chuck it back in the freezer now it's cooked to use another time.
In my pie I've used the meat of 2 chicken legs, which I roasted, I poured the tin juices into the onions I used a stock cube for the liquid. I prefer the leg meat to the breast.
I made enough pasta alfredo to feed me and dd twice and DH x 3!

susan, venus is currently working on the adaptions article, sorry about that. Would your friend be able to come on here for advice in the meantime or are we a bit scary?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

If you ever reach the stage of vegetarian diabetic meal planning I'll definitely do some serious testing
well I can't promise anything, but if there's a demand for it:rotfl:
ok so the brownies needed to go back in the oven for a bit longer after the last photo, I lifted them by the paper to have a poke of the bottom and it really wasn't cooked. This broke the lovely smooth top I'd achievedanyhoo in the end they look pants and the edges ended up very nearly burnt in order for the middle to cook (penance for using a tin that's too small :P) but we enjoyed them none the less!
I think they taste much yummier warm though, they taste less sweet when cool. our sweet teeth wouldn't like them with as little as 240g sugar but the 285g I used was fine.they also had risen then fallen alot, no idea why?
ah good. So perhaps not reduce the sugar. Did u use the SP choc?I don't think she would "get" forums and she's not very good at two way conversations. And she only gets online at the library at the moment so very limited internet time.

Hello Everyone
Am at work right now, very embarrassedthat I've had a whole weekend at home and still not finished the article! Now you have all given me a timely kick up the bum, it will be finished forthwith!
Weezl, have got all my stuff together for the single bit, just need to make it into prose rather than bullet points - shouldn't take long at all, you can deffo have that bit tonight. Lovely Poohbear gave me a great start on the more than 4 bit, so just need to pull that together a bit more.Aaarrggh I hate saying I'll do things and not doing them, am now suitably shamed and motivated to get it done and then you can do with it what you will at CFR Towers!
Hope everyone's having a good day... just over 90 mins til hometime for me, yay!

No Weezl I know you didn't, I've been annoying myself not getting it done, a bit of prompting to get myself in gear is just what I need! And now there's demand for it, there's no excuses are there?
Don't worry, I know you're not doing the drill sergeant bit - I'm doing it on myself now! :rotfl:
See y'all later

HIfor the wine... can you try some of the asda balsamic vinegar? quite a good sub for red wine, as is red wine vinegar. But balsamic is cheaper IIRC.
Cream-wise, elmlea single works out a LOT cheaper, and you could use the rest in other thrifty meals? I stirred some elmlea into a risotto, and a HM rice pudding with very satisfying mouth feel results!
Alternatively just a knob of butter gives a nice mouthfeel and a creamy taste?

I used asda's own brand plain choc (its what I had in already) its was 45% cocoa solids.
I had typed up something else but my delightful Edgar slammed the lid own on my netbook and it was gone
all I remember was thanks for pie/oil info.
Do you know if rapeseed oil always have omegas or do asda add it in? And pedantic lil me would like to see water in the ingredients list of the chicken pie recipe and in the same one mid way through the method it says centimeter not centimetre
thinking bns risotto and chicken pie this week, not sure what else yet, prob chili ...0 -
Yes Sami_Bee, rapeseed oil is a good source of omega 3, it's not added in. Here's a link to good info about it: http://www.vegsoc.org/info/omega3.html
Edit: hope you guys don't mind me jumping in about that, it's something I'm quite interested in.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
