Hi,
I wanted to order a dyson online (using points and cash) but they were out of stock. I managed to get one instore but didn't get the 3000 points they are advertising when you buy online. I know it may be obvious to some of you but is this an online offer only?0 -
I have saved my Tesco vouchers for ages and today I ordered a Bissell carpet cleaner and computerised Singer sewing machine for nothing! It came to £581 and it is being delivered on Monday. I shop in Tesco and use their credit card (which I clear each month), so as far as I am concerned it is my bonus - hope the Government don't get wind of it and tax me! I'm delighted!

Be very careful out there using the Clubcard Exchange (Double up) scheme.
I wanted to buy a product online for £10. I went to my local store and exchanged a C'card voucher for £5 and got a £10 till receipt. Just as I was about to leave the store, I noticed on the receipt it said 'in store'. I queried this with the manager but he thought it would be okay.
I got home and of course it didn't work. I rang Tesco and they said it is wrong and I should go back to the store. I did the next day. Saw the Manager and explained the problem. After much prodding the computer he couldn't do it. I left him to it, and when I returned he said he had rung up several departments and basically they hadn't envisaged this possibility, and there was nothing they could do. He even still had my original Clubcard voucher, but that was no invalid because it had been exchanged. In fairness he gave me my £10 in store receipt back, together with £5 gift card as an apology.
I went today to another store that has a Tesco Direct section. They too will only use the receipts which are valid for on-line. The item I want is not available in-store.
Why do they have to make this scheme so complicated and open to error ?
***Update***
I have just phoned the Tesco Helpline and according to them I can change my voucher for a gift card (of the same - new value - at any Tesco store). I will see with interest what happens.
***further update***
Just received a call from Tesco. They apologise, and are going to send me a £10 voucher in the post, which I can use online. I queried about the existing (instore) voucher that I have and she said I can use that as well.
She is going to have 'a word' with the store. Dare I show my face in there again?!
Result :j
***yet another update! *12/8)***
So the Tesco Moneycard for £10 came in the post today. I log onto Tesco Direct for the product, only to find it has increased by almost 50% (£10 - £14.99) in those few days !
I telephoned the Customer Services Manager, and she is kindly going to send me another card for £5 !!
They are doing the right thing, but it is taking so much time !!!
***and finally*** (14/8)
Got my further £5 card today. Logged into Tesco Direct ordered my product and it will (hopefully!) be in store at 4pm on Monday - I will collect it on Tuesday. :T
The only thing left to do is to see if the store will exchange my wrong voucher for a gift card, if not, our little cats are going to think Christmas has come already with all the extra food I will buy with it !Thank you for reading this message.0 -
Yes, you must be careful, know what dept(s) you want the vouchers converted into, and be patient - you don't know what a 'pain' the last people were!!
And, as you said, most important say firstly that you want on-line vouchers - in-store vouchers would be the norm otherwise.
Above all, do not load - up the trolley - go through the till and expect it to be 'doubled' there.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
http://www.tescoopticians.com/categoryframe.aspx?cat=7
if you go to the link above - if it doesn't work just google Tesco opticians, some rimless frames are shown there, although I seem to remember there being more in the store, but that may have been semi-rimless, I didn't take much notice as I have tried these before and bust them twice, I am too clumsy, so have given up on them!
I popped in to Tesco last night to have a look at the range, not many, in fact only one the type I specifically wanted but quite a few I would be happy with as the BOGOF pair. £200 including the lenses so as I know I have at least £50 in vouchers I'll be happy to double up £100 for two pairs of glasses will do me thanks very much!0 -
I thought I had read somewhere that there was a voucher in the Tesco mag for August for £10 off any spectacle frames over £75 and just found it in the mag so that will be another £10 off. Thanks to whoever it was that posted that.0

I am thinking about getting one as well.
Can you tell me which one you got and are you happy with it?

You obviously got a good deal, but as the deals on holidays is at brochure price (and in terms of Cosmos the £400 per person kimit) does mean that probably a large number of deals are overpriced...
And as with the end of my original post the comment they were overpriced wa made in the context of someone who can use double up profitably (in my particular case on Baby stuff) on items they would otherwise purchase.
Outside of double-up personally I've paid for 'overpriced deals before) as paying the full value in deals was better for me than paying a lower price in cash.0 -
My latest vouchers arrived today giving me a total of £90.50 so I have just exchanged them for £180 worth of tokens to spend online. I am just about to order:
An electric shower - mine died a few moths ago and I haven't been able to afford to replace it.
A very swish microwave with grill - my existing one is on it's last legs.
A fancy set of bathroom scales.
A very nice new telephone as the old one sounds as if a crisp eating mouse has set up home in the handset, and some of the buttons only work when they feel like it. It even has a second handset so I don't have to run downstairs to answer the phone and I can answer it before it wakes the children.
To say I am pleased with this is the understatement of the year. I use loyalty cards for everywhere I shop but I have no loyalty to any of them, I shop where I get the best price and use all the tips to ensure I get best value for money. I am confident I 'earned' the vouchers by buying my petrol, shopping etc at the best price and therefore consider them a real bonus. Fingers crossed there are no problems using them. Good luck everyone0
