            Hi all,
Dont know if anyone has had this problem or know where we stand?? went to tesco today to take advantage of the last day for the double up deal, was buying toys baby things and household. Anyway I was told the computers had crashed (apparently did the same yesterday) they had already been down for an hour and they said they had no idea if they would start working again, and as it was a nationwide problem there was nothing that could be done. so along with many of other shoppers we had to abandon our trolley.
Very very disappointed, I dont see how they can get away with this as it is tesco's error, i have tried looking for the deal rules/smallprint and cannot find anything.
 any advice or similar experience??

Hi we tried to use our double-up vouchers today, however we were also told that the system had crashed - this was at 3.30 but only when I pushed did they tell me it had been down all day and everyone was complaining. We were simply referred to the head office - apparently the store could not/would not do anything and had not been able to get through to head office all day.
Disgusting and a con surely - how 'convenient' - the system hadn't crashed enough to stop the tills taking our money strangely.
I guess I will be on the phone to Tesco tomorrow - I suspect they will try and evade any payback unless there is major adverse publicity or mega complaints - Martin, we may need your help here!!0

For gods sake you have had 4 weeks to change your vouchers, why do it last minute, and how is it a con ? you get points for doing your shopping, then get the points turned into vouchers for you to spend instore or elsewhere for 4 times the amount they are worth, now tesco are giving you an excellent offer of doubling up your vouchers to spend instore or online, do you know of another supermarket to do that, stop your moaning, you should of doubled up sooner instead of the last day. By all means ring headoffice but i bet they say you have had long enough to exchange them!!! :mad:0

Yes we have had 4 weeks but I have tried on more than one occasion to double up my vouchers and on each occasion the system had crashed. It does not matter that this is the last day, it was still a valid day that we should have been able to double up. The store I went to was Hermiston Gait today, and it is miles from my home but is the nearest one to me which had the item I wanted.
Tesco's has a legal obligation to honour the offer as it was not the customer's fault that they could not double up their vouchers. It was not Tesco's fault that the system crashed but when they have rectified the situation, anybody that missed out should be entitled to redeem the offer.0

Yes I have had to try several times as well.
Its all very well saying we have had 4 weeks. Some people have been away on holiday, and some of us do not have the time or inclination to make several trips to the store which is usually a few miles drive away.
Even the staff have had enough of the problems with this scheme and I was told by my store that the manager will be taking it up with them.Even last saturday they could not advise a customer if the item she wanted was covered by the scheme.
Also problems using vouchers online as it would not take the last voucher, was advised to add another item, input code and take the extra item off, also was told that unless the credit card takes a payment order would not be despatched.
Great scheme but badly set up for both staff and customers alike.0

This happened to me to and I was advised to contact the Tesco Direct department but they said there was nothing they could do but that they had been asked to monitor the number of calls they received complaining about this problem. She said if there is a lot they may put the offer on again for another week.
So get ringing everyone who missed out.
However, when I tried to input my voucher code for an online deal (just to test if it was still valid) a message came up saying voucher had already been used.
Fortunately, I have a scrap of paper with the SA's name on confirming that the valid is still valid and if the offer doesn't come back on I can return it to Clubcard and they will recredit it to my accound and it will be sent back out in the next mailing. We seek a world in which everyone with HIV/AIDS can live an abundant lifeWant to join us?0
