How much would a re spray cost?

I have had a small bang in my car with another. I had just filled up with Petrol at a Garage and there was a Silver car parked at the exit with it's hazard lights on so I had to drive past him to turn left and hit his front bumber. The guy said some paint has come off but didn't say if there was a dent or anything. If it is just the paint work then how much roughly would that cost? I asked the man not to claim on his Insurance until after he's told me the quote to get it done because if I have the money then i'll pay it rather then him claiming on my Insurance.

It certainly will not need a respray, possibly a new wing/bumper, around 2 or 3 hundred pounds, depending on the damage / car.

Difficult to estimate without knowing the exact damage.

Well it's obvious new drivers will get a few prangs. I do think the man shouldn't have parked where he was though because it was right at the exit of the garage. Cars have to move around him to turn left.

I didn't no but he was an elderly gentleman so hopefully won't try it on. I didn't have a camera with me but will ensure I carry one in future. It's a learning experience I guess. You learn by your mistakes.

I hope not that bad. It was a light scrape more then a large bang.

He had his hazard lights on, perhaps he couldn't move his car.

The idea is that you steer safely around him, or stop.;)

I bet other drivers managed to exit the garage without hitting him.;)

No he was waiting for someone to come out from the garage shop. He was not stuck. I did stop but another motorist was telling me to move on. What I should have done was turn right and go home another way. Oh well never mind.

Can I ask a question? My Insurance access is £700 which £500 is voluntary. So what happens when the repair bill to this car costs less then my access? Do I tell the man to not claim from my insurance or do I still have to tell them?
