Hi everyone,
I wondered if I could gatecrash this great thread and ask if anyone is interested in a new challenge "No buying toiletries until the January 2011 sales challenge". Basically I want to try not to buy any toiletries until the January sales and then re-stock by buying discounted gift sets, sale items or items for £1 and make the stash last as long as possible.
This is going to be a tough challenge for me as I love buying cosmetics. I always like to save money but this has become even more important since I've had long term health problems and am on reduced hours and pay. So it would be great if you could join me.
Looking forward to hearing from you. If I get +ve replies I will start the thread.0 -
Thats pretty much my cunning plan too (now I seem to have made such a good dent into my stash!) though Im not sure how successful I will be. was thinking that Id try to do it though knowing that i will still need to buy shampoo and deodorants....Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0

I think I would definitely have enough stuff to keep me going until then, although, like trudij I will have to buy the occasional thing like deodorant .
I have a UU to report: I have finished a bottle of Bulgari Blv Notte - this is the first time I have ever finished a bottle of perfume in my life - I love this challenge! WIBA - think I would, this perfume is really beautiful and subtle enough to wear to work, unfortunately I have quite a few bottles of perfume to get through (46:eek:) A lot were gifts but I have to confess I also went a teensy bit crazy when Luca Turin's Perfume book came out, but I swear I'm a reformed character now, honest

Fabulous idea but I know I couldn't do it, 10-14 days seems to be the longest I've ever stayed away from Boots! Working in the city centre doesn't help.
The January sales are the best for cosmetics 75% off gift sets at Boots:T The Boots January sale thread must have been the longest one ever on here. I still haven't used half of what I bought last January:oTotal debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

Am moving in 3 weeks so will do a new stash list then and see how things are going - this is definetly helping thoughNew surname New start!

I've had a UU this morning: Radox Shower Smoothies Soul Soother (50 ml). WIBA? No way. Fortunately, this was a freebie but I didn't like the sickly smell and I hated the seeds, they were so annoying. Not had a good morning so far as I decided to put away my big bottle of Tresemme for a week or two and have a change of shampoo. I've got a 3 drawer heavy duty plastic storage system which I keep in the airing cupboard full of toiletries (surprise!) and so I had a rummage in there for a different shampoo. I got a Charles Worthington one out to use next and noticed from the weight of it that it was not full (more like half empty). I thought it was strange as I had only had a handful of uses out of it when I first bought it before I put it away. Then I saw that the top was not pushed down and realised that the shampoo had been seeping out into the drawer. Sure enough there is a layer of shampoo at the bottom of the drawer - yuk. I hadn't got time this morning to sort it all out and so that's a job for tomorrow. Luckily, that drawer is full of shampoos and so nothing will be damaged, it will just mean I've got to empty the drawer and wash everything!0
