No Buying Toiletries in August Challenge!!!
Comments
-
I've just used up some Radox hand wash (in kitchen) and there wasn't enough left of my Radox handwash in the bathroom to use it to top up the one in the kitchen IYKWIM. I have therefore just added a Dove Visiblecare Renewing Creme Body Wash (55 ml) to the kitchen dispenser. I've just tested it and it works a treat. Hopefully, it will save me from having to buy any hand wash in August.0

What is the concensus if you wear a new perfume for the first time and you're not sure of the smell. Do you leave it a few days and hope you get used to it or ebay it/palm it off to someone else.

 Cherry Blossom Storm!
Consider us your official bum-kickers, and if you like, post a ist of your stash to marvel at,Looking forward to your reviews.
Hi Pickle, thanks for the welcome! Would wave back but can't see the smilie for that so I'll jump up and down in excitement instead! :j
So nothing to report, no new buys:T and no UU yet - although I did try using coconut oil over the weekend as hair conditioner and have to say, I am impressed! Nice and soft and shiny - will have to keep using it to see if it continues to improve.
Having read the recent posts, it inspired me to add up the cost of my own stockpile - I now feel a bit sick... I have about £2k worth of products in my bathroom. I'll admit to having the odd clinique product, a set of kerastace and redken and a few other high end things, but most of it is Avon, Boots, normal high street stuff. eeek. And that's not including the relative value of the many free samples I've been collecting either.
Tell you what though, it's definitely a LBM! Will have to sort and stick to a budget in future...
Here's a question for you all - have any of you set your own budgets for toiletries? What kind of budgets do you have? I *think* having done a careful budgeting exercise I can easily get everything I need for £300 per year max, possibly less - does this seem extravagant? Cheap? Would be interesting to know people's opinions on what you would spend in future!
Cherry xxDebt free as of 2010 :j - now to stay that way!
No buying toiletries challenge - joined Aug, have been good so far... :A0 -
TBH Cherry Blossom Storm, I would panic if I had to set a budget.
My main aim is to clear the stash and then just buy what I need, when I need it. I also aim to try and work it so that I get it when it's on offer. As we have all noticed during this challenge, Boots do regular freebies, bonus jobbies and what nots so I think it will just require a little planning around what's on offer when so that I have enough but not too much.
I bought 2 Olay facial washes in January as I had a £5 off voucher. I have yet to open them. In fact, I do believe that I still have one in my stash which was a gift before I get to open these two. Thankfully I have just got to the cut open stage of my current one. Boy was I getting fed up of the mangled tube sitting on the side.
I still have lots of stuff though. I'm in a bit of a slump at the mo, I don't want to be sitting in a hot bath pampering, I want to be outside in the sunshine and then when it gets dark I'm generally off to work. I'm not moisturising like I shuld be because I'm trying to be good and use up the baby oil but truth be told, I don't like it!
I haven't worn makeup in I don't know how long either. I'm not doing very well at all am I?
I will need to buy toothpaste soon but not sure how soon.

Evening ladies,
I have a few UUs to report, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - WIBA? I have really enjoyed using this product but it is expensive so probably not,
also UU Louise Galvin natural locks shampoo - wiba - yes, smells gorgeous and makes my hair nice and shiney
UU clarins multi active day cream - this was a gwp and I have to say i love it, have two more of them in the stash along with a load of other stuff to get through so no need to buy for a while
uu white glo toothpaste - nothing special
also had to dump a Trilogy rosehip oil as it had gone off - was a bit disappointed but it was my own fault - I am seriously guilty of being suckered into buying stuff , trying it a couple of times and then flinging it in a drawer and forgetting about it, (hanging head in deep shame:o:o)
I MUST TRY HARDER!

annoyed today as the new bed we bought DS2 3 weeks ago has a crack in it:eek::eek::eek:DH is calling the shop today...this was not a cheap item and we had to wait 5 weeks for it so not very pleased.poor DS2 just graduated and cannot find a job......so all in all can't afford toiletries so just as well I have a large stock:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:....walked away from Clinique bonus time twice last week:A0 -
UU Radox Limited Edition African Sanctuary Shower Therapy African Rooibos and Red Thyme. WIBA- definitely, found it left my skin feeling great0
-
lynseydee and Cherry Blossom - You've made me feel a bit better, in a twisted way! I had a big clear out last month, gave more than 50% of what I had away to better homes or the charity shop. So I would of had a lot more!
For the budgets, I hadn't really thought of that :undecided I suppose when I've worked down each part of my stash, I'll just try to buy what I need now rather than 'what I need now and in a couple months time' like I tend toI just want 1 of each item over the 5 shampoos and 7 body washes I have now!
One UU. Imperial Leather Skinbliss 'Glow' shower gel. WIBA? I'm about 50/50. I liked how it lathered up, and it left my skin feeling really clean and smooth but it was a little too creamy (went everywhere!) and the smell was amazing but just didn't linger.0 -

I ebayed one last month (just a christina aguilera one i got as a present - i tried to like it!) and got £25 for it and i'd tried it 3 times! HTH

I think I might have been a bit heavy handed with it yesterday as today I could hardly smell it. Just have to try and get it inbetween :rotfl:
Have decided I will persevere with it which means it will obviously take me longer to work through the rest of my perfumes. I was so looking forward to taking a new perfume out of the drawer and updating my list as wellDid owe £9,951.96
