Can we by now assume that OP has phoned the bank and attempted to cancel the transaction?

Hi , I am the OP.....

Yes , in answer to your question , i DID phone my bank . I have been in close contact wit hthem since this whole thing began on Friday.

The situation now is this : The money has GONE from my account.....the ghd's on the website were £57....the amount originally AUTHORISED at the beginning of the process was £54.81 and yet the actual amount debited from my account today was £55.02 ?

The bank manager says that it would appear that the seller had been GUESSING the exchange rate !

Anyhow.....the fraud dept of my bank have actually heard of the ghd scam before ! They have begun the chargeback process for me and it would appear that i am going to receive my money back.

Still no communication from the company although to be honest i wasnt expecting any !

The card has been stopped (was stopped a few days ago) and now im just waiting on my new debit card to arrive.

This has put me off ever entering my details into the internet.

So.....anyone actually have any experience of charge back who could give me a time estimate on how long its likely to take ? I forgot to ask the bank today and now they are closed.
  • Joanne,

It might be worth informing your bank and replacing your card. If it is a scam website they might be using it to harvest credit card details. The Hair straitners could be a red Herring.

Hi , i have already informed my bank and have also stopped the card .

The process of a chargeback has already been started so hopefully it wont be too long before i get my money refunded.

For everyone else ONSALE-GHD.COM IS A SCAM WEBSITE PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM !

There are also many other websites which look pretty similar to onsale-ghd and it appears that they are all linked . Please do not use them !
