Delain.
Im so disgusted with myself to be honest .... im usually so dubious about this kinda thing !
I think on this occasion common sense went whenever i saw what i thought was a bargain !
never mind......the money has been transfered so they cant get anything from my account even if they try .
Tomorrow i will close the account . I will still loose the £55 but hopefully i will be able to do a chargeback...0 -
Dr Cuckoo
Thanks for that post , it was informative.
How the heck do you know so much ? lol
Any how...i have been lying in bedworried sick incase my bank account gets cleared during the night...so what i have done is i have just used online banking to transfer all my money into my daughters account.
To be honest the account which has been compromised is only my "direct debits" account so theres not much in it anyway , only about £750 , however in saying that , everything that WAS in it has now been safely transfered to my daughters account so at least i can sleep a bit easier until i can telephone my bank to have the card stopped.
If any scammers wish to use the account now theres only 72p left in it and NO overdraft available lol.
I don't think my knowledge is anything special
I would have left the account open and cancelled the card as you may be charged for going overdrawn
You should have mentioned that you use Ulster Bank - you can open a new account using online banking when logged in - they will match your current facilities and the form is already pre-filled if you are logged in
Presumably you have the non cheque guarantee card version as my balance didn't reduce when I made a test purchase on my cardHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I dont think your bank account will be scammed and you will get the goods they will just befake. If you could post up for two reasons the website
1. So others know when they search google
2. We can see how your card payment went through. I reckon it is likely to be through paypal or something this might alleviate any worries0 -

I dont think it was paypal
I did register with the website (used spam email) and used the address of a Post Office (poste restante)
http://www.onsale-ghd.com/conditions.html
checkout page certainly wasn't worldpay as they claim (or paypal)
I agree they will probably get the goods , but when they get closed down or need the money they can sell the card detailsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi again Joanne,
As Omen says, I wouldn't worry too much about your bank account or card details being compromised. Dodgy as these products are, the 'companies' selling them often operate like real companies. They have customers to please [or not please!], and may even rely on repeat business [some people would be happy to order fakes, and may even do a 'big shop' around Christmas time for the whole family!].
You're highly likely to receive your product, for what it's worth, and whilst I'd keep a close eye on my bank account, I wouldn't fret too much.
When you do receive your item, explain to your bank that it is substandard, possibly fake, etc., and then they will be better placed to intervene. As things stand now, you have sent a payment to what appears to be a reputable retailer [at least on the business side of things, if not the actual products], and until the item doesn't arrive, or arrives in a bad way, the bank won't really be that interested.
Also, I know you've contacted the company and threatened to report them, but have you tried to simply cancel your order with them?0 -
