How do you figure that one out ? The title of my thread is VERY accurate . The company advertised GENUINE ghd's .........i thought i was BUYING genuine ghd's......that equates to me being "scammed".

What type of card did you pay with? VISA debit cards now offer the same level of buyer protection as VISA credit - one of the main reasons banks are ditching Maestro I am led to believe.

    The WHOIS entry lists

DOMAIN WHOIS PROTECTION SERVICE as the website's "owner"
    http://whois.domaintools.com/onsale-ghd.com

which I assume from it's name , is similar to Domains By Proxy

http://domainsbyproxy.com/ which is used by websites who wish to hide their address from the public (I wonder why they would want to do that ?)

Has the OP tried to use their card following the transaction ?

They could donate 20p to charity here http://www.rmhc.org.uk/donate/form which uses Worldpay (which is a reputable service - and uses verified by visa)
(the bank may have blocked the card - so this would confirm)

Of course the card will need to be cancelled ASAP because there is a risk of the card details being sold - China is a high risk for this

I assume that Verified by visa was not used in the original transaction

Find it funny that the OP checked the retailers website to make sure it was a Genuine GHD supplier and you later go on to say that it said on their website that it is a official reseller. That is hardly checking now is it?

If you are unsure in the furture I suggest youpost onhere there is a wealth of information from people on here that could have told you they werent for one rason or another and how to tell.

As for telling the website you are going to report them, well that is not going to get your money back who can you report them to that is going to do anything? No-one

The money hasnt actually GONE from my account yet !

I have spoken to my bank who confirm that the amount has been "authorised" but the company have not actually taken the funds.

My total balance remains at £57 more than my available balance.

Anyone know for sure how long this will stay like this before the amount is put back into my account ?

Have been checking my online account like a million times a day and everything seems ok.....have also used my card and it isnt blocked

Think first thing in the morning i will cancel the card though , just for peace of mind

Domain is the 'name' of the website - you should seriously consider your card details have been compromised - I only ever use my o2 pre pay card online.

    All fakes call themselves genuine.

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Go on the GHD website, they have a list of their retailers there.

As you only made the transaction yesterday (?) ....... the software in place at most Banks will wait between 5 / 7 working days before deciding the request for the funds won't arrive and returning the funds to 'available'.

But the most likely is that the request will arrive and you will see the debit on your account either tomorrow (if your Bank runs updates on a Sun night) or Tuesday.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
