Well today my friends I have been what Hypno calls 'Dot-to-dot' ing! However when you complete a dot to dot you should end up with something 'finished'. Hmmmm, not so here. Bit of a waste of a day.
Woke at 5.00, had to get DS1 up and on the move by 6, he needed something printed before he left, printer not having it. Ok, he can survive without, get him where he needs to be on time, however this means DS2 is in charge of getting himself out of bed before 7.00, which of couse he doesn't...
Eventually by 8.30am everyone is where they should be, I then proceed to waste three hours trying to sort stupid printer out, it hates me and I hate it ! Reinstalling required a 'lead'. The lead I put away very carefully. Look for lead..everywhere..meanwhile the washing is out and it starts raining, find lead, just about to get washing doorbell goes with parcel for DS1, phone goes off with text from son requiring pick up from station 16 miles way, dog wants to eat DHL man, washing is wet, printer will not install.
Give up by 3pm and walk dog !DC.

I typed a big reply yesterday, but battery died just as I hit send, and it never got here. It was mainly about DS results and him being his own person.Different_Corner wrote: »SH, yep, priority wise I always meet the right payments, I just seem to sabotage any extras I accumulate.
Looked at CV yesterday as much as I thought I had it pretty much sorted I suddenly realised I had left out every single O'level !Don't know how, or why they weren't there.
In a recent period of unemployment I went on a CV writing course and was told not to include O levels in detail. Just put x many gained in 19xx. or whatever. Mainly because its unlikely they will be relevant and you will have more recent stuff, even if it is vocational.
Good luck with the OU. I did OU back in the early days, remember distinctly being very ill before an exam, and feeling queasy throughout. I put it down to nerves; in hindsight realised I was 10 weeks pregnant at the time :rotfl:but I passed. OH (now ex) thought it was really funny. Continued while DS was small, eventually getting the required 6 credits, not sure I could concentrate enough now though.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thanks Gilli, that is what I did, just listed them and CSE's, can't remember their grades anyway !
DS1 is flying high at the moment, long may it continue.
Cheri, shredder is happy again thank you, just the printer that needs time to sit in the the corner and reflect on it's actions....

Yep Cheri I'm ploughing my way through it. Have read the latest 'events' but got mighty terrified at the thought of cleaning the workspace....however if I am to be motivated beyong my current stagnation then I'm in !DC.

Well I've upset someone at work, rather high up in the rankings. Someone who will happily put the proverbial knife in, but you know I'm feeling quite pleased that I took a stand over matter in question. *Quickly opens directgov in another window for any job any where* There maybe blood.DC.

DC well done for standing up for your beliefs. Too many people let things happen and then say "told you so". In my experience I have worried that standing up will get me in trouble and invariably, when explaining myself I have come out of it ok. As long as you can back up your argument. ANYWAY it is always good to keep your options open.
Did you ask for any feedback from hospital or builders. It might be worth contacting them to ask, if nothing else it keeps you on their radar. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Hi Cheri, yep am sticking to my guns on this one, but you know the smallmindedness of the person in question will keep them occupied for weeks moaning about it so I've done something to make them happy in a roundabout way lol !
Builders have said name is on file for future vacancies, NHS didn't contact me in any form...
For some strange reason I am feeling enlightened today. I have tomorrow off and am not going to waste the day !DC.

Dear King Of Spiders
I appreciate that at this time of year your many subjects desire a warm corner in a dwelling of a human. I am writing to request that could you please make it known amongst your kind that my house is not suitable for this activity.
Last night one of your - shall we say 'senior' members decided to wander in halfway through Coronation Street and made himself comfortable on my sofa.
Upon seeing this I broke out in a cold sweat, started shaking and emitted a cat like scream. My 13 year old son copied my actions, and grabbed a broom, what for I don't know. What followed for the next 20 minutes was a turfing over of sofa cushions, the summoning of a reluctant 16 year old armed with a tupperware pot and his GCSE certificates. Mad dog also got involved but 8 legs are faster than 4.
The spider in question had well developed calf muscles, a suitcase and change of address cards. He has been evicted, but please no more....
TY
