  • Ooooh I love Earl Grey !
DS1 is fine, he is out all day with his GF.
Now I have had a walk with mad dog and it is nice to wander, bumped into a few doggy walking friends and put the world to rights.
PG before wandering into town for postal supplies and bread.

£90 budget it really is just for food, I have everything stocked up, so I am [STRIKE]hoping[/STRIKE] really really going to do this this month.

I remember failing all my O levels...... I was so upset ,I still to this day remember opening that envelope ... Hated exams and school. I went to college and passed them all there... At 32 I passed 2 A levels and eventually went to University and got a degree. Sometimes we just need a little time and its never too late. I think your son sounds an amazing young man who has been thru an awful lot in such a young life. He has his head screwed on getting an apprenticeship, you can always take an exam but the experience he is getting at the moment is worth so much more. :):) !!!
  • Hi Bast
Thanks for those words. And congrats on the degree. I'm chasing after you with mine.
He is amazing, and I really have no concerns about him, just his self confidence.

Now I'm a good girl, I have today:
    mowed both lawns
    Weeded the drive
sent two parcels off from Amazon sales
Pruned two very overgrown bush things in the garden (please note I use the term 'pruned' very lightly - I have no idea what I'm doing..)
    Hoovered
    Cleaned both bathrooms
    Made pizza dough.

40 minutes until X Factor and sofa.

    Need a bath.

Hi DC, I have no tv so can only watch x factor later on i player. This is one of the programmes I miss as I love the run up to the live shows, it is so entertaining. What is the degree that you are doing. I admire anybody who has the courage to do a degree.

Hey DC, enjoy the X! Sorry your son didn't do so well but like you know we're just not all made the same way. look at all the super succesful people out there with rotten exam grades?! Main thing is that he's happy. I was properly thick at maths at school but have always worked in sales and can count my wage fine! I've done many jobs in many countries and no ones ever asked me about Pythagorous (sp)!!! My food budget is always little but I manage. Have a lovely weekend!

Cheri I'm doing an open degree, done some IT, a little social science and at the moment Psycology. I'd love to learn a new language, Italian or Spanish, but have to look into that locally.

Souk, exactly. I just need to keep him up emotionally. His grades really don't matter because he is in such a good position. But of course he can't see that, yet.

This time last year he was applying to local companys for apprenticeships and a place at the local college. Every rejection letter from each company was another knock. He got into the local college, dependant on his grades. Then in the early spring said college withdrew his intended course, lack of funding. He wouldn't have got the place with results so it wasn't meant to be, either way. Anyway he is def on the up this weekend.
Thankyou all for your supportive words, I think we are out of the fog with him.

Now I forgot to mention my fight with a bramble bush yesterday, I don't go to that part of the garden very often, was like day of the triffids down there. Cut back a huge pile of brambles and it was eventful taking them down to the recycling centre.

Today I shall potter building on the progress yesterday.
    Now surely it's PG time.

You've got loads done this weekend. I really feel quite lazy reading all these diaries. You've reminded me I need to list some books on amazon. Actually, these diaries are good formreminding me to do lots of things.

Glad your son is feeling better.

Time for a PG here too :)

Had a lovely day yesterday, gained control of the remote control late afternoon afternoon and watched 'Motherhood' Uma Thurman. Was nodding in agreement through most of it.

Now today the sun is shining and and the sky is that deep azure blue. I've had a lovely few days off and am feeling up and at them today.

September is approaching and it's time to kick some rear end.
Spectacular September will see me :

    Finding a new job.
Listing two things a day on Ebay/Amazon
Returning all leant books to owners (far too many that I'm not going to read.)
    Doing the shred.
    Completing the bathroom.
    Sticking to a budget.
    Seriously declutter.
    No whinging or moaning allowed.

My 1001 day list has been neglected so I shall attend to that later.
