" including the complete set of Android 2.2 features, the update will contain a few special additions of our own through the latest iteration of HTC Sense. The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget, as well as our enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard. Also, though the update, HTC Sync will allow HTC Desire users to sync their music with iTunes."
"This update will initially roll-out to unlocked HTC Desire handsets. Operator specific versions of the update are undergoing testing and we expect to make them available in several weeks’ time."
"If you’ve rooted your phone the easiest solution I’d recommend is wait for the update.zip to appear on XDA. It’ll be exactly the same update which you can just copy to SD card and install using the recovery image. Alternatively, you can easily unroot your phone using the guide here and then wait for the OTA. If you get an error during unroot then you may need to create a goldcard first using this guide" see www.myhtcdesire.com for loads of other useful guides.

"we know that HTC are updating customers with generic Desires to 2.2 over the weekend, but they are building a specific version for Three. This will take them a few weeks. Once we have this version from them we’ll test it and get it out. Realistically we’re looking at late summer until customers with Three branded Desires will have 2.2."
"
v1.22.771.1 is the Three version that is exactly the same as v1.21.405.2, the only difference being that it contains our customisations (wallpaper, Planet3 etc). If you’re using a generic HTC Desire I’m afraid you won’t be able to upgrade to the Three version. Amongst other things, this would void your warranty.
To reassure you though, there are no key differences between the two software versions, other than our Three branded personalisation. Hope that helps!

anyone rooting or unrooting and flashing custom roms can get versions of xda or shipped roms websites. see tutorials to root or unroot on the www.myhtcdesire.com website or loads of other websites on the net. for lay people like me i found the www.myhtcdesire.com website useful (i am not linked to the website, just a happy user btw incase anyone questions why i keep mentioning the website!)bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

I got one of the first few hundred that T-mobile released at the end of March. Some were unbranded and some were T-mobile branded. I seem to remember that some even had a test version of the software and had to be sent back. I thought I was one of the lucky ones getting a working phone, but I'm paying for it now as T-mobile won't release Froyo until 'sometime in September.'0 -
Anybody had the update yet. I suspect it will be phased and not until midweek before we'll get it.0
