My software is 1.21.405.2 so I am hoping for a wee update this weekend.

Sadly I am quite excited by this.

Is it possible to debrand the phone so you can get the update without waiting on the networks?

Yes, there are guides available on the internet.

Be aware that this will invalidate your warranty and carries a risk of bricking your device if it goes wrong.

T-mobile have tweeted that they're not rolling out the update until September and they can't say when in September either. :(

    x.xx.405.x - Generic HTC
    x.xx.161.x - Vodafone UK
    x.xx.110.x - T-Mobile UK
    x.xx.61.x - Orange UK
    x.xx.207.x - O2 UK

Do those numbers also relate to the Wildfire ?

Mine seems to be " x.xx.161.x - Vodafone UK " but is unlocked, works with any sim.

Will I have to wait until Vodafone release the update or when HTC roll it out?

That's within 2 months. I can live with that. It's not as if there's anything wrong with 2.1.

It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
