They should be on the phone to you now, as I write. I don't yet know how this has happened but am very sorry that it has.

I had my last order yesterday, all in stock, particularly pleased with the christmas pudding! I didn't have an email to advise re delivery but that's understandable given the weather problems

I've ordered good brand names including farrows peas, jaffa cakes, matthew walker chris pudding and some I've not heard off - pickles, sauce mixes - and all has been fine. The only item I've not been pleased with is crisps mentioned in my earlier post.

However, I doubt I'll be ordering very often as the cost of delivery makes it much less worth while for me. Not having a go at AF but just looking at the economics of it.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • I posted here a couple of weeks ago about placing my first order. Everything arrived and was well packed. Today I got my second order. Before it arrived I was emailed to say 2 items were out of stock. When I opened it I found that the shower spray had been swapped for carpet and upholstery cleaner which is not useful as we have leather sofas and parquet flooring. I ordered 12 of another item which were missing. I've emailed my displeasure but even a refund isn't good enough because I've paid for delivery of 28kg (I adjusted my order to the max limit) and I've had delivered far less as the 12 missing items were weighty. I'm not asure I'll bother again.

I placed my first order with Approved Foods a couple of weeks ago taking advantage of the half price delivery. I used up the full allowance. Delivery was received on time so that was good. I went to unpack the box and found one carton empty, which I thought was a bit odd.

On checking, there were a large number of missing items. I had ordered 100 packets of maggi noodles, but received only 1 box of 30 packets. My 2 large jars of garlic in oil were also missing and the website had advertised 1 litre bottles of heinz soy sauce for £1. Upon checking the labels, these were only 667 ml bottles.

The picking list stated all quantity had been picked but this was not the case.

I rang up and explained. The lady was helpful and agreed a refund which was received quickly. I still feel aggrieved as most of my parcel had not been delivered although it had been paid for. They obviously don't offer to send out missing items as it is not cost effective for them, but should offer some other compensation.

I will think twice before using them again, as my first experience does not fill me with confidence. On this ocassion, I did not have any problems getting a refund, but maybe that was down to luck.

The cost of the delivery spread over the items I did receive did not make it such a bargain.

My order arrived today and I have to say the lucky box is brilliant for 99p!

I got a pack of ground coffee (worth more than a £1 let alone everything else)
    Twix
    2 Packets of chewits
    6 Pain au Chocolat
    Bag of chocolate Limes
    Bag of cheesy puffs
    6 Rocky Road cakes

    Absolute bargain

all packed brilliantly, nothing missing and nothing damaged.

I even got a call from Approved Foods asking if I had got my delivery

  • Shame they didn't bother to call or email me about the appalling service I received.
