I've ordered 6 times now from them & have been really pleased with each order, a couple of times I've ordered junk food, marmite crisps for 5p a pack a while ago. Last weeks order was mainly for the bread flour & bread mix. I used the mix the day, as I'm in the middle of doing up my kitchen & trying to bake bread from scratch is too much of a mission at the mo. The bread from teh mix was lovely. I used 2lbs of mix & made a large loaf & 8 big rolls. If there's any left on the site it was reduced to 89p for 3.5kg.
I also buy couscous, rice & pulses. Plain couscous makes great cakes, a little different in texture but quite nice, from a recipe I got when I was doing slimming world a few years ago.
The large sauce mixes, Homepride & Lloyd Grossman a few months ago were brilliant.
If you're selective with what you buy they are brilliant.
could you share the cous cous cake recipe please,

The above is the basic recipe, the mincemeat one is gorgeous. I've substituted the mincemeat for lemon curd & jam, also done a lemon drizzle one, just plain cake & then when it comes out of the oven spoon, sugar subs dissolved in lemon jusice over it while still hot.
I also didn't use as much sweetener as stated, I found it too sweet. Never cooked in the microwave.
They are really quick & easy, also bake dollops in bun cases, I'm not too good at measuring etc, just then baked them for the same length of time as buns.
I hope that you enjoy if you try them.
  • thanks, i shall try them at the weekend

I wanted to order the bread mix but wasn't sure the yeast would still be okay. I suppose sell by dates are usually rather cautious and it'll be fine for a couple of months?

About to make my first purchase from approved foods of bread mix, dough ball mix, olive wedges, grapefruit segments, jelly crystals, ground coffee, cereal coffee and white tea.
I'm excited :D Hoping I get everything because they're all(okay not the jelly...) foods I eat almost daily.

Well, I've been eating 'Black Forest Trifle' for a few weekends :)

Placed my third order on Thu lunchtime; due to be delivered tomorrow.

Been very pleased with last two orders. My office are loving the 1kg jar of bolied sweets! I'm sure they'll love the cup cakes too!

Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.

Got my first order today and it's great! The olives are fab, nice bite to them, I ate a handful whilst cooking my dinner of olive pasta with approved food dough balls :D
The bag of bread mix was split and leaking into the box but I suppose it's hard to keep a huge paper bag intact in transit.
