I placed an order on the 24th (Weds) and its due to be delivered today. So yours won't be too far behind I expect. We're spoiled by companies like Amazon who despatch same day and expect every company has the staff to do the same. Staff add to overheads and therefore prices, so I'm not too worried. Still less than a week.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • I always use approved foods for our *treat* food, i.e. crisps, buscuits, flapjacks - can take up to a week for delivery but always arrives, and never had any problems with items missing or anything. I would really recommend them.
But my kids are out of school snacks and there are no flapjacks / digestives on offer - I might have to go out and buy normal priced snacks :O

Well, I can't say I'm impressed so far. My order is still being processed when I placed it on Thursday evening, yet the money for the order was very quick to leave my account and left before the weekend. Is this normal practise for this company?

Why do you need/expect immediate next day despatch ? Approved foods arenot selling fresh goods , so I am never ordering stuff that I need "next day" and am more than happy to wait a few days for delivery.
  • I've been a regular user of AF for several years, and have seen with my own eyes the prices jump up as the popularity of the site increased & it became better-known.

My orders (sometimes one a month or more) have decreased to 2 a year... often stashing a basket for a month or more & adding to it.

    Many items are now either:
    • cheaper in the supermarkets, or
    • available cheaper/same price in 99p/Poundland shop

Still waiting for a reply to my CS ticket in February!!

Such a shame that Dan & co has cashed in on the current frugal trend by upping prices for everyone, including his initial supporters (like me)

AF are losing out in the long term...

I don't expect money to be taken from my account 5 days before a company even picks the items! That's my issue.

    hullo fellow moneysavers!

after months of umm-ing and ahh-ing, finally decided to bite the bullet and place my first order on ApprovedFoods on saturday night.

it was quite an ordeal lol; it took me and the kids more than 2 hours picking things to make the most of the 50kg delivery we were going to be paying for...it's my own fault as on the first run my basket was over 25kg by 100grams!

on placing my order, it said that estimated delivery would be thursday/friday of this week. it's wednesday evening now, and my order status hasn't changed from 'Being Processed'.

my payment was taken promptly, which has left me wondering if it takes this long for orders to be processed, picked and dispatched?

i'm worried now that the things i ordered mightn't even be in stock by the time by order goes through properly. bit of a shame as this would be my first experience of shopping with them.

how has everyone else found them so far?

Sorry your order was later than usual in being despatched - this happens occasionally if we are very busy or (rarely) if there are stock keeping issues. Like many companies we do take payment when the order is made - that is the method we chose in the early days, after having a problem with orders that we picked then discovered couldn't be paid for as there were insufficient funds in the customer's account.
I've only just picked up this post but, as far as I can tell, without knowing your order number, your order was despatched on Monday or Tuesday.
Thank you for your comments and I hope you are satisfied with your purchase. If you do have any problems, our customer service team will be happy to help if you contact them through the "contact us" button on the website.

Without your order number, Imran, I can't say for definite, but your order should certainly have been despatched by now.
As for the items you ordered still being in stock, the system we use deducts goods from stock at the moment the purchase is made so you should receive all that you ordered.

hullo again, apologies for the late update!

many thanks for your response. it was reassuring to know that the items i placed in my order, would be the items i received.

i did get an automated email saying that my order status had changed to being despatched soon, but didn't have sight of any tracking number for DPD. they did deliver that day (friday), but didn't call ahead to the number left on the delivery note.

on the whole i was really pleased with my order, (picked and well packed by aaron; much appreciated :T). only slight concern was that some of the tinned items ordered were dented, so won't be using them.

the whole experience was quite exciting, from placing the order to unpacking, and dishing out the goodies to the kids, but with the delivery charges as they are, will be a while till using ApprovedFood again, unless i can convince family or friends to share an order with me! :)

Hi dont know if we are allowed but it would be handy to be able to give feedback on the various products, particularly if they really are past their best.
    As a starter
1)I bought the individual plastic cartons of raisin bran and they were stale and i had to throw them away.
    2) the sour cream in squeezy bottle seems good
    3) the jelly powder (about 2k) is ok but takes far more than you would expect to get it to set
    4) the biggest loser mint fudge meal bars are definately stale and very tough on the teeth
