Now don't laugh too hard, but they recently sent me an order - I paid using paypal as normal and a day later the money came back - after it was delivered. So I rang them and told them and he said I will send you an invoice - that was prior to Christmas.
Then I ordered a large order and it was sent in 2 boxes - only one arrived, so I rang them and asked if they could find out what happened to 2nd box. Turned out that after many hours Tom rang back and said he would send out 2nd lot of what was missing. We went through invoice and he sent it that day. This was Thurs
-Monday it got delivered along with original box 2 - which had been taped up - so it had been dropped by someone somewhere along the route. So I cannot say fairer than that. Now I have to use all that up.0 -
I won't be using Approved Foods again. Twice now I have had an incompete order and have had to email to request a refund. The most recent order I received was covered in laundry liquid, a litre bottle that had been taped up but then packed horizontaly on top of some lightweight basically emptied all over the whole order. I have had to wash everything which was a pain, then I emailed asking for a refund for four items that I considered unusable, but at that time I didn't ask for all of the items that were sticky from soap to be refunded as they were usable, even though they were soapy (cans, bottles etc). However I was told to take photos of all of the packaging and the items before they woud refund, they weren't really very apologetic and now I'm thinking I should just send everything that arrived damaged back to them. Their communication is very poor.0

I recently ordered £31.08 worth of assorted food items from Approved Food and saved £73.79 on the RRP of the products chosen.
When the box came I was a little sceptical because Approved Food sell items close to or just beyond their best before date. This is totall safe by the way - that date is a good to the items optimum quality. It's food beyond the use by date that can be harmful.
Anyway the box came and I was really pleased with the items. Crisps were crunchy, everything tasted good and my cupboards were full for a mere £31.
Just Google Approved Food and grab some bargains.
Let me know how you get on!!0 -
Just wanted to say I put in my second order for Approved Food which arrived today and I am really very pleased, especially with the very careful packing. The only damage was one slightly bashed tin of shoe-polish (2 for 58p, am not complaining!). They used lots of bubble-wrap, packed things sensibly, e.g. crisps in one box separate from tins, and sellotaped over the caps of a suntan lotion and a handwash. I do appreciate all this care. There was no problem with the tacking or delivery, friendly, pleasant, on time City Link chap arrived as scheduled.
These are some of the items I ordered which are still available; (have had to delete all the links but the titles are copied from the AF website)
These are an amazing bargain for 99p,
CASE PRICE Belvita Breakfast Yogurt Crunch Bar 18 x 50.6g
1 per customer.
These are excellent quality as in juice not syrup,
Dominic Broken Mandarin Segments In Juice 298g (this is the undrained weight) 25p or 5 for £1.00
CLEARANCE PRICE Floresur Black Olives 300g, 49p or 3 for £1.20
Taste great and are whole, not pitted olives which I think keeps the flavour better.
I'm drinking some of this right now, Ubuntu Fairtrade Cola 500ml, 29p or 4 for £1.00 (It's not Coca-cola but very close, closer than other cheaper versions.)
Delifrance 4 Petits Pains 250g, 29p or 4 for a £1.00
Dr Karg Kracker Sold on Sesame and Linseeds Wholegrain Flatbreads 200g, 69p or 2 for £1.20 (so similar price to Ryveta but much nicer)
I subscribed to receive their email alert. It comes extremely often, I think once a day, but it is a useful way to keep up with what's most recently arrived. The good stuff tends to sell out very fast. (Good as in organic and/or high quality.)
I think Approved Foods do a very good job as a comparatively small business and I like being able to support a UK business and not one of the huge supermarkets.0 -
I used to order quite a few times through the year and was really pleased, then they upped the postage to over £10 which I find strange because although we live in Scotland (Aberdeen area)we used to be charged national rate postage.so I wont be bothering again.i have also found our local home bargains has similar prices to approved foods.0

Okay I know there is an approved food thread somewhere but I find this forum awful when trying to search....i never find anything
I am just about to do my first order but I'm worried about the quality of some of the items....how do I know they will be okay after the best before? Is it just a chance you take that some things will be okay and others wont?

I've been ordering from approved foods for years, they do open and check everything is still ok, before they ship, but if you have any problems, they're happy to refund. This also applies to any goods received damaged. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
