I ordered from Approved Food for the first time and my order was delivered today. The process for tracking orders seems to be poor; they sent me a DPD link but it wouldnt show any tracking when clicked. When I woke up this morning I saw a text on my mobile which had been sent at 08:24 saying my parcel would be delivered today between 07:00 and 20:00. So they have notified me of delivery after the start of the delivery window... not great. Thankfully I was able to stay in and wait for the delivery but considering I had absolutely no notice at all I may have had to rearrange it.

One of the items I ordered was 'unavailable' so they credited my Approved Food account with the value; personally I think they should put the value back onto the payment method used as I dont know when I would next order from them as most of the items were bulk buys.

They also missed an item off my shopping list but I have been charged for it. I have notified them of this and requested they credit it back to my Approved Food account as this seems to be their way. I await their response.

The items that were delivered were well packed and in one piece and there was nothing amiss about the quality.

I'd say they need to improve their delivery notifications to give more notice of intended delivery but the process from ordering to delivery was painless and the products good so I would recommend them. I saved £62.42 on the RRP value of the goods purchased - which you cant beat with a stick! :)

Take the RRP value with a pinch of salt , it doesnt mean a lot

  • Ren - they will pay back onto your card rather than credit an approved food account if you ask them. I've always done this. They will reinburse for goods that are missing onto your card, too.

At least with the delivery text you are always given the option, or at least I always have been, to delay delivery through texting back a number.

I'm so glad they've gone back to this means of delivery and not the one where you didn't know which day it was arriving, it just turned up. :)

Tracking is handled by the couriers not by approved food themselves, if you make sure approved food is aware of any issues with the couriers then they can put pressure on them to improve the service.
Once you get the tracking link via email it will not work until the parcel is collected taken to the depot and logged into the couriers system this usually happens in the middle of the night. Assuming it is a standard mainland UK delivery the parcel will usually be delivered the next working day after you receive the tracking email. If you gave them a mobile number you should receive a text in the morning to confirm delivery & give you the option of changing the delevery date if it is not convenient.

The refund policy seems to be value of item + 10% to apologise for the inconvenience credited to your approved food account by default but you always have the option of having a refund for the item value only made back to your card/paypal acount or however you paid if you prefer, you need to contact them if you want the refund done that way.

When I asked recently about +10% AF informed me that they stopped doing it.
  • My orders have all been fine for a while so it was September last time I was refunded for a missing item they did the +10% then but could of changed it since.

Just realised that the order is received last week was missing 4 of one item i ordered. It only totalled 99p and if i had realised before now i would have emailed. Just a reminder to everyone to check their order when it arrives. It is so easy to just be overwhelmed with a large order, that one or two smaller items have not been sent out. I'm sure it was just an oversight on the part of the picker/packer, but any future orders will necessitate more scrutiny on their arrival.

Not only check your irder, butvalso check any credit promised to your account has been actioned. I had an oos on my last order, and placing a new one today I realised there was no credit showing in my account, so have asked them to investigate. I've never really bothered too much before, but obviously you need to keep any eye on it.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
