  • I only wondered as I have many young friends who are hard of hearing who have better hearing than me that get middle rate care DLA where as I dont get anything else at all. I know all these people just spend it on drinks and stuff to go out and about in.

Appalling as my hearing is since worst than the people I know around me and I get nothing.

It depends how the forms are filled in. You have to tell them everything - regardless of how obvious it is to you.

You be suprised, they can go out clubbing and buy drinks (with DLA money ofc) go shopping with ease with free public transport, own a car and everything and still manage to get middle rate?

The question is 'Why are they getting DLA if they dont need care? or have a carer?'

Is that not what DLA is? To help fund your caring needs?

The care only has to be reasonable and you don't need a carer.

How are you meant to care for yourself?

I dont see what kind of care a hard of hearing person needs other than communicating issues but my friends do not have problems with that...

So Im struggling to see how DLA is helping them out

How much of their situation do you know?

There is more to deafness than communication.

I can't tell you. You should know what your care and /or mobility needs are. That is what DLA is based on - not what needs others have.

A while back I asked about pillows for neck pain. (well, to support my neck) I was advised to get a V pillow. I got one for Christmas and it's wonderful.:j
Which one did you get sh? Is there a brand that's better than others, for example? My neck's been killing me the last few weeks, getting progressively worse, so I think it's time to act!
