  • jojo I completely forgot to thank you for what you said about getting your current property. Thank you. I have already involved my MP but it's very difficult in this area as there is a massive shortage of any kind of properties. What you said about not involving the media was great as that had been in the back of my mind. Being subjected to random attacks by strangers is not something that I would relish so that is certainly off the list now.
I have til the beginning of March in the propert I'm in currently so am starting to make waves now.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • No probs, CWTA. There's a massive shortage of properties here as well - but that doesn't mean anything, as by vacating your property, there would be a perfect home for someone else that doesn't need the accessibility that you do. So all they'd really be doing is allocating your property to someone who is, say, on the homelessness register whilst you are allocated the property that would ordinarily be offered to them. If they can house one family on the homelessness register in a proper home (ie, not a B&B), then they do have properties, they just aren't considering how they could deal with two families/tenants in one go.

Pestering them for rehousing was probably the most dedication I have shown to anything - other than music - in my life. And I hated every moment of it, but even though I still haven't quite got used to calling this home yet, and I do miss being able to see the stars at night, the birdsong, badgers and the dead hush of the woods, the difference it has made to my health is huge. I needed it. So it was worth it in the end.

    You can do it!

  • Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'm quite scared about the whole thing so am still in denial iyswim. Just sitting here believing that the perfect place will fall into my lap when in reality, I know that it ain't gonna happen. I did a bit of phone pestering at the Council yesterday but need to get straight back onto it after New Year.

I went to the doctors to get my prescription to take to the pharmacy to get my monthly supply of drugs today - if I do that it takes 15 mins, but if I let them automatically send it then it takes an additional 3 days - and then I noticed that the pharmacy has half price on some vitamins :D Then I get 10% staff discount, and had a voucher for £1.50 off if I spent over £5.

I also have "Seven Seas Comfrelieve Cream: for the symptomatic treatment of joint pains associated with restricted joint mobility" as that was half price and I thought it was worth a try.

Ooooh, and now my Daddy has asked what I want for Christmas and I've asked for a Slanket/Snuggie :D

I probably won't get one; last year I asked for a bread maker and got an electric toothbrush.

    *growls in frustration*

So those teeth I'm having taken out? They want to give me IV sedation with a benzodiazepine - and last time I had anything in the way of benzodiazepines, I went completely manic. I mentioned this to the specialist, as I was - and am! - worried this will do the same thing to me. Which will be no help at all to help me stay still for a dental procedure! And now they've pushed back my appointment from January 6th to the 12th, just as part of the back tooth they're planning to remove has broken off and left a very sharp edge that's causing a sore on my tongue after barely a day. ARGH!
