  • Thanks.

If you can appeal without damaging your health further then I would urge you to, and get in contact with either a charity that is specific to your condition or CAB, it really helped me to relax as it is very obvious that my case worker knows exactly what she is doing.

I got the news from ESA two weeks before my DLA decision, in those two weeks the anxiety of having no income and the not knowing the procedures really took me backwards but as soon as i got my DLA and knew I could pay the bills things got a ton better. Now i am not particularly worried about my appeal at all because I have the right backing and evidence, I'm sure I'll be bricking it on the day but by the sounds of it that could be over a year so things
    could be a LOT worse.

Funnily enough i got my ESA points score letter (they send it separate to the actual decision letter) in the same days mail as my DLA one and just happened to open that first, never have i gone from such rage to shear delight in my entire life!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am appealing with the help of a Welfare Rights Officer. Unfortunately, the primary health problem I have is very rare and has an 80% mortality rate over 4 years. I am lucky that I have a mild version, but that doesn't mean it feels mild or has a mild effect on my life!
I've recently been diagnosed with Fibro (temporary condition they think) as an after effect of Glandular Fever and in a weird way I wonder if having a desease the DLA understand will help.

We'll all just have to keep supporting each other through the processes. :D

My birds tried to re-enact my monitor logo. Cedrick was right, Simon was nearly right, and Susan didn't have a clue what was going on:

I can't self propel either, but I'm not sure how I could prove that. More joys :(

Sounds familiar. *gives you a hug* I can use a powered chair but I can't use a manual as the movement required to self-propel dislocates my shoulders within seconds. But since some people with my condition can (presumably those with less of an impact on their upper body?), they assume I can. I wish.

Thankfully my shoulders don't dislocate (or at least, not yet) but I have very little arm strength and I weigh a fair bit more than I should so although I could self propel on a flat surface for a little bit, perhaps for ten minutes slowly round a shop, it would use up so much energy that I would be in agony and or asleep for days after.

... Which reminds me. I had a dream that I bought some stick insects and had to give them back as they were hatching out of me (!!!!!!?) and I couldn't take it. In my rational mind I know my skin was crawling due to the tramadol :(
  • juno, your bird comment made me chuckle :D

Juno thanks for that picture; it made me smile.:D

I'm having a major increase in the frequency and intensity of my anxiety attacks; I'm certain it's connected with my total dread of the summons to ESA medical. I haven't even had the summons yet, but already the fear is making me even more ill.:( Bottom line, Mr LW will have to take time off work to take me, as I can't go on my own, both for physical and mental reasons, but you can bet your boots I'll get some drongo who doesn't "get it". *rolleyes*.

Anyways, wishing everyone pain-free times, and in case I don't get back on the thread in time, a very Happy New Year.:o

Max the Greyhound is going home today; tomorrow Benjy the Westie arrives for a 3-day stay with me. Thank the gods for my mobility buggy!:D

Please don't injure yourselves tipping your head on one side, but I now have a video of Susan having a bath in Cedrick's water pot

    Well, actually, I have two

You can see Cedrick in the first video. He has a poorly leg, so I put his seed and water pots on the cage floor so that he can get to them.

  • I just had my ESA medical record posted to me, the thing makes me out to be a fraud :eek:  :(:angry:  :(
  • Oh bless you. I'm so sorry, that's horrible. Seems to be something that's happening a lot at the moment; that, at least, I hope will help you not to take it personally.

Juno I watched the videos on my netbook, so I didn't have to perform any contortions to view them.:D
