Well, we dodged the hospital admission again. Youngest's peak flows are more in the normal range now and only slightly below his normal and he seems to be over the worst and on the road to recovery.
Phew!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I now have a big toe the size of a golf ball thanks to one rather large, old style computer monitor and am feeling quite sorry for myself0

Hope you feel better soon, FP.
I have another appointment with the neurologist next week. I am not looking forward to being pulled around again.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I have my first appointment with Rheumatology tomorrow, can anyone give any insight on what happens?
I've never seen them before...and it is making me rather anxious (being anxious over silly things is not abnormal for me by the way)We made it! Hi everyone and hope you are all not to bad.
FP Hope your toe feels better soon.
I know I dont post here often but I'm being cheeky and asking for advice:o
SingleSue I noticed in your sig that your son has elhers-Danlos, My GP suspects my 7yr old daughter may have it. I know nothing about it (I had to get him to write it down cos I thought he said Ella Davros:rotfl:)
I don't like gooling medical things as they always seem to make things out to be worse than they are.
Would you mind if I asked you some things either on here or by pm? Don't worry if not. Thank you
Oh and good luck tomorrow x0 -
SingleSue best of luck; I can't really tell you what to expect, not knowing who you'll be seeing. If it gives you any insight at all, the lady I usually see is great, does minimal prodding, and is very considerate of the fact that I'm needle phobic (I have to have blood tests far too often for my liking) but the bloke I saw the time before last was horrid, positively gloated over making me have blood drawn, and I've asked that I don't ever get assigned to him again.
You'll be fine - I usually make a wee listy of things to mention, which I hand to the rheumy; also take a list of any meds you're currently taking. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh no, FP what've you been doing? You weren't trying to move the monitor by yourself, were you? Do you need to get it x-rayed do you think? (The toe, not the monitor).
Yes, I was trying to move it on my own, stupidly. Sometimes I get fed up of not being able to do normal things, the things I used to do, and try and do them anyway. Bad move. I don't think it's broken as I can walk on it pretty fine and it doesn't really hurt today, it's just huge.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes
I did achieve something though, I am now able to get in to the spare room to sort through all my junk for moving out, plus i found all my old CDs which is good as my very expensive laptop broke before Xmas and is probably going to need a new hard drive (thus lose all my data) but luckily it's still in it's apple care warranty so it won't cost me a penny.0 -

For what it's worth, I have Ehlers-Danlos as well; type 3. I've been being kicked by it (progressively more) since I was about the age your daughter is now.
Do you know what type your GP thinks she may have? Hypermobility type (type 3) is the most common (about 1 in 5,000 people).
If Sue's not around or doesn't have the spoons, I'm happy to answer questions about it by PM, I don't mind.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0
