They had them on the website at 7.30 this morning as tried to reserve one but out of stock on the website. Went to the store, but didn't open til 9pm.

Just rung them up and they have apparently been removed fromt he website. the helpdesk chap seemed a bit confused that they weren't there but he did say it had been a very popular item(!)

ETA: Just been and looked - its still on the website. Nearest in stock to me is Barnstaple, so anyone in the area, you'll get lucky!

ETA2: Spoken to someone instore. They've got two currently on reserve and said again tomorrow morning to see if they're still here.

s.morris, do you just use 1 x 7g packet of dried yeast per 500g of flour for all recipes??
    And approx. 315ml of water??
    How much oil??

    Thanks,

    Lynsey

I've only made one loaf so far!

I used the recipe in the the instruction book - can't remember exact amounts (I will check if you like) it was water, veg oil, quite a lot of flour, teaspoon of salt and sugar, and then make a little dip in the flour and put 2 teaspoons of dried yeast in the dip, and yes it was one sachet. It was a 700g loaf. I will check the measurements later and post them. :)

Sorry to state the obvious, but for anybody that doesn't know already, there are recipes in the instruction booklet.

It lists all the ingredients, measurements and what order to put them in.

Also, you need to check that your yeast is suitable for breadmakers! It is the easybake yeast you need, not just the regular dried yeast.

I haven't read the whole thread as I have a smashing Panasonic breadmaker. Just to pass on this though - the best white flour that I've found ( at a reasonable price) is from Lidl. Their bread flour contains flour improver (ascorbic acid / vitamin C) which really makes a difference over the similarly priced Tesco strong bread flour. I mix in a couple of ounces of wholemeal flour usually, makes for a better tasting loaf. And of course, if you get the breadmaking bug and the cheapy breadmaker doesn't run the course, invest in a Panasonic (Amazon etc.) If you haven't bought a breadmaker yet I'd just get a Panny... It'll pay for itself in months. I think "he who buys cheap, buys twice" possibly applies in this case.

Off to Lidl to get some flour later, thanks Techno
Would have loved a panasonic, but OH would have freaked. I'm trying to break him in gently with this cheapy one (he was very impressed so far) so the next one can hopefully be a Panny!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks s.morris - thought you had done a few from scratch. :o

I'm more concerned about the yeast and would prefer to use a tested method, I know recipes are in the booklet.

I think I'll reduce the yeast to 1g per 100g of flour - so not using the full 7g in the packet and see how it goes (the 7g states it's for 750g of flour).

    Happy baking.
