Oh No! I have just realised I must have thrown the paddle thing out

It must have been at least a week ago - no chance of getting it now :(

Does anyone know if I can get a spare?????? Please!! Thanks

Not too sure if everyone is getting the same results, but I find the bread is pretty open and loose in texture, a bit like an Aero.
Has anyone made a loaf with a finer texture, similar to say a Sainsbury's bloomer??
    If yes, please post recipe.

    Hi Lynsey,

I'm having the same problem as you! Heavy, loose like a bad crumpet! I've followed the recipes for both white and wholemeal bread absolutely to the letter and have been really disappointed! The smell of the yeast permeates the whole house (makes me feel queasy its so bad) and I've yet to have that lovely fresh baked bread smell! I used Hovis strong bread flour for both recipes and yet it just hasnt worked! Really disappointed as I bought it really to make wheat and gluten free bread for my son but havent got the guts to try it now cos of the smell being so bad! If ANYONE has any suggestions PLEASE let me know! What am I doing wrong?

    I've been Money Tipped!
My last loaf Dainty worked out pretty well and just needs tweaking. I did find the light crust and smaller loaf settings made a better softer type loaf which produced more "crumbs".

  • hi - new here. I got one of these after saying goodbye to a very very old Panasonic.

After 4 tries and 4 fails I nearly gave up. But finally, after trying various different things, reduced the amount of water and that seemed to do the trick for a basic white - also make sure the yeast doesn't touch anything but the flour (eg don't mix it with the salt)
  • why is this not expired and put on gone but not forgotten, no one else can get one of these and everytime I come on all I find is chat about a recipe not if anyone has managed to grab one of these, which is what I always hope. So effectively not a grabbit ANYMORE

Do you only add water or add say some milk??
I'm thinking of trying some milk the next time.

I simply use water...adding milk will give a different flavour to the bread...nice but not very popular in my house! I only add oil when making pizza dough and then I only add a small amount of olive oil! ;)

You also need to add ingredients to the pan in the order they are listed in the recipe...my friend goes for the throw it all in in any order approach and wonders why her bread fails EVERY TIME!! (it is important the yeast doesn't activate too soon etc!)

Thanks, I will be adding milk to my next loaf - if only to see the results.
It makes you wonder how the packet bread mixes work, as everything is literally just emptied in with the water.

    Hi!

Did anyone here buy this paddle:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270571848219

for the carlton breadmaker? Did it fit?

I need to buy a paddle but I am unsure which one to buy. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you!
