I got a Biffinet from a Freecycler and use it all the time. My favourite is:-
185 fl oz water
1 tsp salt
4 tsp crystalized sugar, (from Morrisons)
4 tsp sunflower oil
315 grms of Allinsons strong flour
1 1/2 tsp dried yeast.
I put these ingredients in the same order as I have wrote them, into each small tin, bake on medium (for the colouring) for 3hr 25 mins and it is great toasted with best butter on.
I took some toast to work and they scoffed the lot. They ask for more weekly, they get withdrawal symptoms if I don't take any in!!!
By the way, I have nearly lost my paddles loads of times. I even gave a loaf to my friend with the paddle still inside. Luckily she had thrown it out for the birds, so I had to go and retrieve it.
I try and start cutting the loaf from the end where the paddle is so I can get it out straight away.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup of oats (I use tesco value porridge oats)
3 cups of strong bread flour (I use lidl strong bread flour 60p)
2 flat table spoons of sugar
1 and a quarter teaspoons of salt
1 and a quarter teaspoons of dry yeast (allinsons 125g tin 47p at sainsburys)
1 and a third cups of tepid water
METHOD
In a large bowl add all dry ingredients and mix well together, put water in the bread maker pan and add all dry ingredients to pan, cook on rapid setting, this makes a large loaf and its tasty and healthy and is foolproof.
I end up making this bread for all the family the kids love it and its a great way of getting them to eat oats which are very healthy for your heart .

Been going through 3 'proper' bread books recently and all agree on certain things:
Try not to use 'fast bake' options. The longer bread is cooked for - the better it is for you (nutrients, 'digestability' etc.)
Don't use more yeast than necessary.
And finally, after finishing with my 'wrights' ready mixes, i plan to use my own flour, dry yeast (not quick/fast active) .
Just my 2 cents. + I prefer reading/listening to those who don't want to sell me anything!
In saying all that, I really want to try the wrights parmesan tomato mix. lol:beer:0 -
Does anyone know where I can buy the measuring devices that normally come with the breadmakers?
When I aquired mine from Freecycle, it didn't come with any measuring cups etc.
Tried looking on the internet, but I don't seem to be able to find any.
Thanks

The measuring devices are just usually a teaspoon/tablespoon measure and a cup measure. Either you should be able to get at a cookery shop.In saying all that, I really want to try the wrights parmesan tomato mix

(I got the money off coupon from their web site so it was a bit cheaper I wouldn't normally spend nearly £1 on a bread mix )Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0 -

Hi
When the recipe book refers to 'cups of flour' does this mean the measuring cup that came with the breadmaker?
