Why do adults have to eat around supermarkets?

1. I get on well with the supermarket staff who know I would return to pay for it.

perfectly put and spot on on all counts.

See thing is people who do do this - their parents may have behaved in this way or their peers/friends do - so it seems normal to them.

Are people in that much of a rush that if they're hungry they can't go into a supermarket, pick something up and walk about 20 seconds to a checkout to pay for it then eat before continuing with the shopping?

I always taste one grape before I buy, just to make sure it doesn't take the smile off my face.

Good point Judderman - bad behaviour being passed down and amplified through the generations.

In that case, it's like banging your head against a brick wall for all the effect it'll have trying to explain why it's wrong.

Yes and no

I would like to suggest that many people know it is theft,scummy/chav but do not care or are in denial. That is what we are faced with in society in general Denial and a dont care attitude.

I am just playing devils advocate here because I actually don't think that what you do is the end of the world....but where do you draw the line?
