    Hi.
My son is starting school in 4 weeks, 2 days after his 3rd birthday. As he is short for his age I need a uniform aged 2-3 years but have been unable to find one. I have tried the 3-4 years but they are huge on him.
Does anyone know where I might get one.
    Thank you.

I won't buy from Asda as I find their school uniform of very poor quality, I bought 4 pairs of trousers from there 2 years ago and the first day DS put them on the catch above the zip came off, then the hems were down within days. Tesco never seem to have the right sizes in. They had already sold out of socks in DD's size within a couple of days of putting them on the shelves.

The badged stuff has to be bought from one shop in town. All shirts, trousers, pinafores and skirts I now buy from LX Direct. Very good prices, fantastic quality and the best bit is that it is delivered direct to the house and I don't have to drag the kids around the shops looking for things.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

The smallest uniform I have seen is age 3-4 years. My dd who's nearly 6 needs a size 3-4. If I had seen age 2-3 skirts I probably would have bought on e for her - she's TINY.
  • I appreciate your honesty and reasoning...thanks!

We are all entitled to our own personal views and we should respect that. I do think its going to be very difficult however for you to purchase a school uniform if you have such strong views. BHS, M&S, Matalan etc etc all do what you are saying supermarkets do dont they:confused:

Have you decided where you will buy from? Can you make any of the uniform yourself?

i bought little miss divadees from m&s when it was on 3 for 2 recently!!

It is more expensive than say asda and tescos, but the quality is so much better, asda's school uniform is so cheap and nasty now it used to be good but obviously the severe cut in their prices has led to a quality cut as well!!.

When i got m&s on 3 for 2 it worked out at £22 for 3 pairs of trousers which i thought was great value. and i got 3 for 2 on summer dresses for next year as well!!!! as m&s do the bigger sizes i think asda stop at 9 for summer dresses!!
  • My daughter is little too. She started school when she was just over 4 and we found that Marks and Spencers smallest sizes fitted best (she's 6 now and has only just grown out of 3-4 trousers!). John Lewis also do smaller sizes, but it's a little more expensive. Tesco stuff was huge on her, Adams is quite a good fit and Boots is good for smaller sizes.

The local shop which sell the uniforms had a few in age 2-3, they were expensive and I think he had to order them in specially.

What is their uniform? - I know the 3-4 year olds at my kids school often wear jogging bottoms in school colours, so you may be able to find a smaller pair (that said I did end up cutting about 6 inches off the bottom of a pair and taking them up) - otherwise it is going to be a case of taking them up (a lot of the school stuff - I know Tesco skirts, not sure about the trousers) have take in wast belts (same as on maternity clothes) which help a lot and then just take them up for the length

Otherwise with my girls I put them in pinafores which came to midcalf - not really an option with a boy though

My children are both quite slim and I always find that waists are enormous in most places
Matalan were the best they sell a good range at great prices

I agree that M&S are best. My son is small too. He's 5 now and still in 2-3 year clothes! Uniform is a nightmare. I've found that 3yr old M&S with the adjustable waist is just about ok on him.
