Tesco and blue badge bay abuse.

Just been to our local Tesco. 3 cars parked without blue badges. On the way out there was 7.
Reported this to customer services and they said they can not do anything about it.
Is this the same at all tesco stores.

Yeah it is private property therefore non-enforceable - but they do have the ability to read the reg numbers out on the tanoy and shame the people in public - some stores do this , but many do not bother.

In both my local Asda and Sainsburys they have now employed a team of parking attendants who give on the spot fines for parking in disabled bays without blue badges as they had got fed up with the amount of complaints they were recieving. Perhaps hassling them enough or writing a letter of complaint to the right dept might get something done.

If it is private land this team of parking attendants can no more issue a fine than I can.

    They are issuing unenforceable invoices.

Yes Tescos in my view are by far the worse store to be proactive. My local tesco express is another, locals alike openly abuse the one space for disabled at tescos and the main store its rife with abuse on a evening.

This reminds me of South Park

Officer Barbrady (aka Belleyetere): "No Sir, I do Not"

I agree - the problem really is not the supermarkets enforcement - but the people who park in the bays in the first place. Quite frankly they dont give a hoot whether they use a space for a disabled person.

Going to get all deep and meaningful now - i think the issue is a social one - kids in school are taught about racism and sexism but there is no (or little) education about disabilities - if there was maybe the next generation would have a bit more respect and understanding.

MSE actively supports people not paying fines for parking in disabled bays. There are loads of threads telling people they don't have to pay so what hope do we have of stopping ignorant people using them.

MSE does not try and stop people paying genuine fines.

As the discussion thus far on this thread has been about bays on private land then there are no "fines" being issued or to be paid.
