So - at 07.00, all the disabled spots are going to get filled in the time it takes to go to the cash machine or buy a packet of cigs (ie. 5 mins)?0

Who is to say who will come along and wish to park in any space at any time?
If you believe in the intent of disabled spaces then you would not park in them no matter what time of day or how busy the car park0 -
i cant say any more clearly ...its the rules! the whole reason we are debateing this is people dont obey the rules causing the whole problem and mess we find ourselves in now.......all that is needed is for people to comply with the rules and the problem would just dissapear...if the odd few just think "its ok ill be quick none will need the space" it will never work
It is not "the rules" - it is a nice thing to have but in no way is it any sort of enforceable rule.
Unless people have a degree of respect for others these sort of advisory things will not work. People have to be forced to do things. Sadly.0 -

I say this again.
Can you answer this logically and practically - not quote some unenforceable rule?0 -

I would say they are probably not going to fill up at 7am in 5 minutes. But neither are the other spaces provided - why don't you use those instead and respect our request to leave blue badge parking for those with badges?
I know it is not an enforceable law, it is a request from those of us who are less able that some people have no moral objection to ignoring. It's the same as people who park blocking a dropped kerb or half on the pavement making it impossible for wheelchair users.Only 3% of those registered blind in the UK have zero vision.0 -
