Again some posts on this thread have been deleted for being arguementative.

If it happens again the thread weill have to be locked and refferred to abuse again. With perhaps this thread being permanently locked.

Noone wants that to happen, so can we please keep it on topic and keep the arguements out.

Lets get back to r&r'ing :D
  • 2) I often come across over priced items that I really don't use, need or want... I would like to be able to pass these on to fellow R&Rers in the hope that they may pass some of thier 'extras' back on to me... anyone interested? - in the local areas as above?

Nice to see. Community minded. Not my area, but congratulations on sharing.

thanx, not sure whats going on with these then
  • Fair point, but not very usefull if the thing he was interested in (the 360) was available NOW and he needed to be fast to get it. He didn't really have time to go and find some overpriced bread or something.

also, if you aren't interested in the small ones you may as well go straight onto the high-value items. There doesn't need to be anything nerve-wracking or 'adrenaline-pumping' about it. You aren't going to lose anything, there is no risk so there shouldn't be any stress either.

Agree that in principle you should only try and get R&R on items you actually want/need, and that there should be no difference between going for lower or higher priced goods. BUT,
Human nature being what it is I would rather think cs would GENERALLY give an R&R on say a buy-one get second half price, if discount didn't come off, on say two 99p items. But if your two items add up to £130 ( say xbox and game etc), then it is perfectly natural to DOUBLE check everything, and try to wriggle out of the full R&R if at all possible.
I gather that a more senior member of staff is needed to authorise higher value R&Rs anyway, so hence you are doubling your chances of one of them refusing. Cs staff may say, yes is an R&R, but store/duty manager overrules and says NO.

Of course we all know that Store policy should be upheld whatever the value of the item, but the store might give R&R on lower priced goods even if they disagreed with it, because it wasn't worth the hassle for the value involved. Whereas for higher value goods they may stand firm.

Re the books with lower priced stickers - these are my main stay R&R. I don't usually have a problem. Sticker on book shows £8.97, charged £9.97. I don't see as cs/manager has a grain of an arguement. If they started arguing sel price is the REAL price, and sticker irrelevant I think that would be one where I did phone TS, because it is clearly rubbish.
Also admit that I personally don't want or need these books, but often I get the R&R WITHOUT the receipt being marked - so I can take it back for a refund ;) and if it is marked, I can always give it as an Xmas pressie - hope everyone likes cooking with noodles
  • By the way
Lynx africa today, discount DID come off.

Maybe you should name the store involved and if any of us are within driving distance, we could descend on it like a plague of locusts :D . This manager sounds like he's overdue a come-uppance. And, as Constantine has already said, his worst fear is a lot of us descending on his store (personally, I probably wouldn't even if I knew where it was as I have a healthy amount of respect for his postings on here, but this toe-rag should get what he deserves)...

Mandy moo, the way they treated you was absolutely disgraceful and I feel angry just reading about it. I'd be happy to be one of those "locusts" that Clasics suggested, if you fancy naming the store either on here or by private message.

This happened in the Redcar store for anyone who's interested :D I am still really upset about the way he made me feel...incidentally, i took my OH who tried to say his piece but this little jobsworth just ignored him and talked over him

Still haven't been able to word a letter to HO....any ideas on how i should word it so i don't come across as whining. i just want this bloke to receive the b*llocking he deserves (hope i can say that on here!) Can anyone help me out, even by pm please?

Bought 6 bottles of WKD Original Vodka Red in one store - full refund no problem! :T Thanks to the OP for this one!

Also managed to bag 4 boxes of Stella 10-pack 330ml in another store today, thanks to the OP:beer: . Full refund without any problems! Had to supply name and address, though, and as I paid on my debit card (not with clubcard) I did the correct one. I guess it was because it was over £20 - will have to remember to pay cash next time!

Also spotted that the WKD Red still had old SEL in this store so sent OH in for another 6! ;) Total R&Rs today = £66.08! :D
  • Hi,

I've just had the same with the Xbox + game. I've been given a reference number and am awaiting a call from HO on Monday. They said that they have set up a special team to deal with this as they have had sooooooo many. Who could these other people be?

Mcdonag have you got any ideas on what to do when they call? You iss dee man!!

Oh yeah, got 10 packs of my friends...............maltesers. That's the nephews and nieces set up for Christmas. Remember everyone, it is the Maltesers that do the trick not the other Cars, Mars, etc; just go for the Maltesers!!!
Any opinions voiced are entirely my own and in no way represent those of anyone but me.

When two prices are shown for the same item, the lower price must be charged. Failure to charge the lower price is an offence. You should have received a full R&R. I would report the store to Trading Standards. Also, report the member of staff to the Store Manager.
