stuart1266 wrote:I've a had a quick look through the thread for this, but can't see any reference to it. The Talkabout mag they have in the shop (Autumn edition) shows the Sony Ericcson K750i for £129.97, but it showed on the SEL £149.97 and scanned at the higher price. Spoke to a woman on the electrical counter and queried the price. She had no idea, but got the duty manager and he went through the mag and pointed out the small print at the front, saying the prices are subject to change and are correct at the time of going to press. He said this is standard practice with the magazines, not only for Tesco but other shops as well.
Obviously I argued the fact that Tesco were advertising a phone at a lower price and they should honour it. He was having one of it, so I got a refund of the £149.99 (kept the points though!) and gave the phone back.
My question is 'is he right or did I have a good shout for an R&R?'
He's absolutely right, I'm afraid. It all hinges on the 'prices subject to change etc' wording in the mag.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

I found my first biggie today.
Silver PS2 GOTW Lego wars. took it through till discount did not come off.
They would not give me the R&R, said that they were only willing to refund£20 and let me keep the game, i refused . asked to speak to manager got fobbed off with hes not here, so got a duty who would still not honour policy. called HO and the bloke on the phone said straight away that I should have a full refund, he phoned store for me and still they would not budge! BTW the manager was there all the time because HO spoke to him!! HO said that he would refer it to special dept on monday.what do I do now guys??
This one seems cut and dried, as CS have confirmed you should have a full refund on both. I would write to CS, naming the CS person who confirmed your refund, and naming the person at the store who refused to honour it. Say that you don't like confrontation and feel unable to go to the store for another argument, ask if they can sort it out for you please.
You have the huge advantage of CS having said that you can have the full refund, it may be that CS will have to send you a cheque for the money but hey, that's the result you want anyway.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just joined today and already reaping the rewards thanks to the advice posted!
Just got back from Tesco purely on a R&R mission within ten minutes spotted one:
Topside Rump Joint (With added basting fat) SEL on offer at £5.18 per KG unfortunately they had not bothered changing the price on the actual item which was still stating £6.48 per KG, doubled checked the price on the nearest scanner and sure enough scanning at the more expensive price so I purchased two of them!
Straight to customer service the chap shot off to check the price he returned clutching the SEL ticket and mumbling something, I received a full refund and obviously kept the two lovely joints of beef Mmmm lovely!
Thanks Tesco!

Is it that they have put it right on the Cars and Mars selection boxes? Or have they suddenly included the Maltesers ones in the offer after all?
What types did you buy please?
The way I understand it, it's the maltesers ones that are/were a cert if you could find the larger yellow offer naming maltesers as being included. Is this still likely to be the case if I can find the large label (haven't found it at my stores yet but may try others).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"You aren't going to lose anything, there is no risk so there shouldn't be any stress either"
Interesting point but from my perspective when I have got a few R&R's in the past, the CS are polite initially. However, if they perceive the person as a "serial R&Rer" then I find their whole attitude towards the person changes. I find it goes from a customer who has been overcharged to a shopper who is trying to defraud tescos. That is where my stress comes from eg the thought of being banned from my store etc.
I couldn't find the selection boxes today to try and my after eight's went through at the correct price too

Just got back from my hols so not posted in a while...
I've been successfully R&Ring for a few months now and fortunatley I have not yet had any problems, I travel all over Manchester with work and am fortunate to be in easy reach to many of stores...
I'd like to post on 2 points really...
1) Would anyone in the Greater Manchester/Wigan/Warrington/Bolton... Tameside kind of area be prepared to keep in regular contact with each other to let others know which stores have been visited and 'wiped out' to save us having wasted journeys?
and...
2) I often come across over priced items that I really don't use, need or want... I would like to be able to pass these on to fellow R&Rers in the hope that they may pass some of thier 'extras' back on to me... anyone interested? - in the local areas as above?
Also, I came across a very interesting sign whilst holidaying, I was thinking about you all and took a picture... If anyone knows how to upload it for everyone to see please can you PM me, they'd have to be very basic instructions or I will e-mail you the pic and if you can do it for me I'd be so greatful - thanks in advance0 -

Thats exactly what I got from CS when I bagged my PS2, she was all nice and jokey when first serving me but by the end of the half hour it took me to get the R&R and after I had gone over her head and spoke to the manager she wouldnt even look at me and was really sharp and curt with me.
I got "but you didnt even leave the store!!" from her at one point!
I just smiled and replied "so you have to leave the shop for the policy to come into effect now then?" I think that was what put her off me! :rotfl:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I think it is cut and dry HO man thought it was cut and dry, but he said he could not overide managers decision? manager is adamant poster means money off game only!
I tried 2 malteser selection boxes, worked for me yesterday, but not today0 -
biglugs wrote:........I suggest if they say this again you get the name of the CS adviser, then make a formal complaint to Trading Standards that Tesco are deliberately advertising items with large stickers indicating lower prices than they are prepared to sell them for....
So if anyone lives in the stansted airport area???Saving money right, left and centre0
