    Yes phone Ho,
    what branch was it??

HO will back the store, same happened to me this week, the store refused and HO agree d that the label clearly marked that the offer had expired.

The person (or people) who pay for it in the end are the customers.

If the 640K is accurate do you not think that, that amount will have to be recovered before the financial year end?

I know it will (although I don't believe it to be that high) and that will be through other products, probably within the same product group eg entertainment.

Crap. I can tell you are a company man. The people as you call them are already paying for it because they are the ones being ripped of by Tesco.

By the end of last week tescos had to R&R over 2,000 consoles with games. It is above £640,000 by my reckoning.

It will be classed as wastage and no it will not be recovered by increasing prices on products within the same product group.

How do I know this? Because Mr T cannot afford to increase his prices as electrical goods on offer are still more expensive than anywhere else. How many times has Tesco come up on Froogle for being competitive.

Doesn't matter to me anyway as I only go to T's to R&R. My OH works for Asda and we shop there.

  • Please could somebody clarify whether we are entitled to an r&r if the GOTW poster for the week says for example "Buy Console 'x' with GOTW "y" and get £20 off" .... will you DEFINATELY be due an R&R if the £20 discount doesn't come off on:

    a) A particular TYPE of the console (eg. White PSP not working, but Black does activate the discount)

    b) The GOTW "y" isn't in the game of the week stand on display but rather another game is, and the GOTW "y" isn't number ONE in the 'chart' for that week .... and that GOTW "y" doesn't activate the discount.

    c) There is ANOTHER game - game "z" in the GOTW stand on display and that game is also NUMBER 1 on the CHART poster for that week .... DESPITE the poster claiming the offer to be "GOTW ("y") with console = £20 off." .... You buy the game that occupies number 1 spot "game z" .... but the discount doesn't come off.

    d) The GOTW specified on the poster on display, with the console specified, fails to trigger the discount.

FINALY .... is the discount DEFINATELY on BOTH CONSOLE AND GAME or just a discount on the game, and therefore should you be entitled to r&r on both game and console or JUST game?

Many thanks in advance for any experienced console r&r'er clearing this up for me !!!! THANKS !

I'm a firm believer in phoning HO...had lots of success........but are you sure its worth it for £12....it means you may be "marked" in that store....I know "I'm a great one to say that" (previous bans)....but at least they were for a lot more.....

I would think you would succeed if you followed it through, but next time your RnR might be much bigger and you will be armed with more info....

I got RnR's 3 times tonight on the same(wkd) and similar(fosters) out of date sels.

I thanked you for the Fosters one, and mentioned it earlier.
  • Scenario: Big yellow SEL says 'Lynx APDs (anti-perspirant deoderants) 2 for x.xx'. However, when you look at the little SEL's you see not all varieties are included in the offer.

Where do you stand with things like this? Are you supposed to look at all the individual labels to make sure you get the right ones if they don't specify in their big label? I imagine that you might get a R&R as good will unless the store recognises you as a serial R&Rer? Surely the big label is mis-leading though?

What do you think - what has happened in this situation to other people (before I go and buy 6 cans of Lynx!) ;)

I would try it, the bigger more noticeable sign should countermand the smaller ones, would be my argument.....These are yellow to catch your eye...they did their job.....so thats the price you should pay......

mcdonag where are you.......that reads a bit complicated for me....

    but in my opinion

    a) Yes....it doesnt differentiate between models

    b) depends on how argumentitive the manager is, or if he says "he cant be responsible for members of the public moving the games about" and how good you are at beating this argument.

    c) GOTW isnt necessarily the number 1 game....same answer as above

    d) yes if you mean "on display" as the game mentioned.....not the one soley with its picture on, as mcdonag said earlier....that is the number 1 game,

You certainly have a case to claim in all of these......

but I'd still wait for an expert opinion....

    phew!!!!!
  • Just heard this on the local news.

Tesco fined £19.000 after they found mice nibbling away at the crisps in the snacks section at a store in Kettering.

    That's 67 wireless xbox's by the way.

That doesn't surprise me. You should see the rodent traps in the warehouses in most supermarkets. They all have rodent problems. However, most of them keep on top of the issue.
