  • Just to say that the out of date label for Wkd Red alcohopop, 2 for £4.50, as posted by Richie23 on the misprice thread, is still up in the Honiton store. This is the big bottles.

I didn't get it as I was on foot and I have no use for the stuff anyway.

That, my friend, is harrassment. I would have demanded someone in authority to speak to me. Then complain that you felt that you were accused of label tampering, which is a criminal offence, ask for their evidence.

It is a definate r&r, if someone else tampered with the sticker then you would see that the sticker had been removed and replaced, creases etc.

Suggest that maybe a member of staff made a mistake and put it on the wrong book.

I've just rung HO and told them how upset i was AGAIN at this member of staff....i'd already made one complaint about him over his treatment of me over the PS2/game fiasco. i told HO that i'd bought a book that had a price sticker of 8.97 on it but been charged 9.97, but the 'duty manager' as he called himself said that becos all the other books had 9.97 labels on he would only refund the £1.

i'd also bought some frozen sausages at the same time and was overcharged and got R&R for these. when i asked the woman at HO how they can justify keeping to their price promise on one item, and yet not on another, she just said the decision is at the manager's discretion. Told me i could take it back for a full refund, but i said the bloke had scribbled all over my receipt, saying he'd refunded me the £1 difference. she basically said there was nothing i could do.

Tried ringing the tel no on the first page of this thread for Sir Terry's secretary, and after i'd apologised for bothering her with what might seem to her trivial, she put me BACK thru to the CS number where i'd just had no joy!! but they cut me off half way thru the conversation!!

I was also gonna raise the fact that they are advertising misleading labels on the shelves....the sirloin steaks have 2 labels...one says 10.87/kg and the other says 12.87/kg but they won't honour the lower priced ticket even tho i know they should!!

    god i feel so frustrated!!

Tell me about it, its even harder when your a bloke with tattoos and a strong manc accent. Your made to feel like a criminal and all because they dont want to adhere to their own policies. It is an absolute joke and there is no doubt in my mind if I dont receive a full refund as promised in their policy I will not only be contacting trading standards again to issue a full complaint but also to the manchester evening news to explain how I have been discriminated against because of my appearance.

I will also contact my solicitor with regard to the illegal accustaions of label tampering. I have been courteous and reasonable up until now but I am reaching the end of my tether with their blatant ignorance. It doesnt take 4 days to read and understand their own policies, i managed it in around 5 seconds.
    Every little helps....

  • Hello
I've passed my r&r initiation test! I have had money back in the past but must admit to being fobbed off with the "oh no, we give just the difference back" excuse. But not any more!! Spotted one of the mis-priced books - Karin Slaughter, Triptych and went for it. I just said, I've been overcharged for this book, and she scanned it (didn't check the shelf, but did make a note of it) and said "as you've been overcharged I'll refund you in full". I pretended that I was really impressed and grateful (I think the people behind me were a bit shocked though), so that's one for the xmas pressie pile. Right, what's next then (not an Xbox as they have no offers on at all  )
Oh, but I did get two of the free "back to school" goodie bags from the pharmacy as well :o

    Thanks everybody!!

Just got back from my afternoons visit to Tescos!

Managed to exchange my PS2 for a DS + Brain game with no receipt no hassle at all. The discount worked and all I had to do was pay the extra £6 odd

    Nice!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I thought about going down this road with TS but the guy in tesco took the book off me that had the 8.97 sticker on and replaced it with the 9.97 stickered one so now i have no 'proof'

Also, would a solicitor be interested in something like this? how on earth can an ordinary person like me go up against a massive company like tesco and prove harrassment? I'm not all that bothered if i never go in that particular branch again so i'm not bothered about the 'keeping a low profile thingy'

thing is i DO suffer from depression and anxiety and i hate confrontation...thats why i allowed him to get away with offering me the £1 difference because i could feel myself starting to get upset and i didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing me have a panic attack

but how can they give me R&R on one product but not another in the same transaction? i just don't understand that one!!

I suffer from the same. The thing to remember is not to be intimidated by them because they are a big company, breaking the law is breaking the law. If you took them to court no doubt they would win, money tends to make people innocent but I think its very unlikely they would be prepared to hire a legal team to take on one person regarding a 250 quid item.

Then the floodgates would open, not only would the whole country know about their incompetent pricing monkeys and go searching out free stuff but theyd also know that Tesco is a company that cant be trusted, and has terrible customer service.

Im pretty sure if you began a legal action a refund would arrive swiftly, time will tell

Anyway, as I say i have every intention of taking this as far as i possibly can if I dont receive the refund they claim to offer.

Ill stand outside Tesco with a board explaining how ive been treated if need be, im not going to walked over or condescended to by anyone whether they are a chain of supermarkets or a bloke on a market stall

Plus dont forget, they have video cameras all over those stores. Theres your evidence.
    Every little helps....
