Lets look at it another way.

If Shampoo is on BOGOF you need to purchase Bottle1 and Bottle2 to get the deal. If the deal doesn't go through then what happens?

    Full RnR on both bottles
  • In regards to this whole PS2 + GOTW r&r...how exactly do you attain the ps2 before the r&r. am i right in assuming you collect it from the electrical desk first or does it not matter, can u r&r with the empty box bacically? lol

Had quite a day yesterday. I went hunting for a games console and more wine.

Store 1-No posters at all with games. Got some selection packs and while looking for out of date labels in the wine found some free Slate 20 with a silly offer (1 for £2.87, 2 for £7) figured that was an easy r+r.

Store 2- Poster for Nintendo DS + GOTW Brain Training. But the game highlighted on the shelf as gotw was lego. Would I have got an r+r if I bought lego game and claimed it was advertised as gotw even though poster had brain training?

Also while looking for selection boxes, next to the christmas stuff was a buffalo wireless router SEL £64 something, dated 13/9/06. Thought it was an easy r+r, but they charged me £59.97 for it:mad: Now returned. So all people new to r+r, don't rely on out of date labels always being a freebie.

You would have more chance if you bought the Brain Training as this is the HO GOTW. The store GOTW is more likely to be correct. Some stores have their own game of the week.

Re the router. You are best to scan the product before buying if you can or get an employee to scan it for you..

  • First the good news, I managed to get a 360 plus game without the discount coming off this morning. They still had the GOTW with Test Drive Unlimited on it.

To it to CS, and you could tell from their faces they thought I was entitled, went back with a lad to check the poster and some busy body pointed out it was due to change today.

The girl on the desk said it wasn't my fault the poster wasn't down but the manager had to be consulted.

He offered me £20 of gift voucher first to make up for the discount, I refused that, he then started saying it was an old poster and I just kept on that has got nothing to do with the policy.

In the end he called HO (I couldn't hear what he said to them), he said they'd told him to offer me the game for free and he wouldn't budge from that.

So at the moment I have an XBox and game sat here, while I think about what my next step is!

Is there a good number to use for HO, or is it just straight to the call centre and take your chances?

Yu do not need the product to claim r&r. As long as you have paid for it and the wrong price is on the receipt, then you can claim.

I usually wait before they get the box out of storage and hand it over as they will have gone through the laborious task of getting it and they might not want to go through the same thing again backwards and will give you the r&r without any hassle.

Ask to speak to Kevin Kelly, he is the Manager assigned to the console cockup.

If he asks how you got his name just say someone on the CS number told you but you didn't get name.

I spoke to him yesterday and he was extremely helpful.

If no joy from him then just take it back for a refund.

That way you get a free game and keep the points

  • Thanks for the tip mcdonag - any thoughts on the "old poster" angle they're going on so far?

It's my feeling that as the policy doesn't state it, then it's irrelevant (and I've seen old prices with expiry dates even getting paid out on this thread) so it seems a bit haphazard the way they apply the rule.
