Manager came down and had been on this forum and identified me from the details I'd posted. He'd gone to the trouble of printing out some of my posts and meticulously cut them out and put them in his shirt pocket
The fact that there are Tesco staff looking at this site does not surprise me.
well done on getting your refund!0 -

Much as I don't (normally!) advocate taking things further, I think this just may be a time to do so. The manager, if my understanding of the law is correct, has committed an offence by looking at your clubcard details. I personally would take this up with HO to ask for their thoughts, with a view to making a formal complaint. I hope Mr Manager is reading this, he may have a fitful night.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
Hi all, a little advice needed please, i just this minute bought a 360 with game of the week, the sign read 'buy a 360 and game of the week and save 20 quid'
I was charged 240 instead of 220 so i pointed it out and said i was entitled to a full refund, they claimed the 20 quid was off the game and offered me the game for free, i refused and said i bought a bundle and the sign doesnt claim its 20 quid off the game.
Anyway, after umming and arring she sent me on my way with the 360 and told meto phone head office in the morning
Will i get a full refund, is there anything i can quote, and what should i be saying to head office
Thanks for your help

Invest £10 in a cheque or postal order and send them a letter asking for a "full and complete" data search under the dpa. They are legally bound to supply you with details of all data pertaining to you and your clubcard account this should be sufficient to supply you with enough amunition to kick his !!! with. And on the assumption that I.D (You know who you are) himself is viewing he should note that if he has indeed breached those rights he is personally responsible not the company, however it would be difficult for him to do so unless he knows someone else perhaps who could have accessed your data for him, but a search will show if any such search was made around the time of the dispute.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

He'll definitely be reading this, I have no doubt about that. He was very familiar indeed with this forum. Shame he couldn't have put so much diligence and effort into ensuring the posters in his store were correct.
Don't worry, I'll be making formal complaints to 3 bodies: the Advertising Standards Authority (re. the "Our Promise" poster being misleading), Trading Standards (re. criminal offences committed by displaying misleading price indications) and the Information Commissioner (re. misuse of my personal Clubcard information under the Data Protection Act).0 -

I think he probably got the clubcard balance from the purchase receipt issued when TaxiPhil bought the Xbox. He won't have access to the clubcard database. As such, no DPA breach has occurred. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Got some of the sirloin steaks today...the ones that are 'on offer' for £10.87 /kg but the pack prices are still saying £12.87/kg.
But my god! what a fight i had on my hands to get them to understand that i should have been charged the lower price. i was presented with every excuse they could come up with....different type of sirloin, didn't pick up the packets with the yellow 'flash' sticker on, didn't check the barcode.
i ended up talking to the meat manager, and the duty manager. they refused to let me speak to the store manager...said he was too busy to be bothered with trivia like this, so i politely asked for HO phone number (even tho i could recite it backwards if asked!!) whereupon they said they would give R&R on this occasion as a gesture of goodwill.
Why do some CS staff seem to make it their personal mission to be difficult? they seem to be making it harder and harder to get refunds on overcharged items0 -

Anyhow, they had no sticker just a normal pack with the 6.48kg stamped on it.
Went to CS to point out that I had been overcharged as 'offer' hadn't come off at the till - showed them the yellow sign, showed the dept manager the sign, showed the store manager the sign ..... all insisted that the pack price was the price and that I hadn't been overcharged - just picked up the wrong product
Took 45 mins to get me to eventually accept a 'refund' no R&R as they were insistant that it wasn't their fault that customers 'move products around'.
Shall I leave it and put it down to experience - or shall I phone customer services (HO) to complain about it all? and if I do ring .... any idea as to what I should say?
Did I do the right thing?Starb wrote:I wouldn't risk raising your profile over some beef joints. Put it down to experience and look for other r&r opportunities in this particular store.
Can someone explain what is meant by "Risk raising your profile". I would like to know as I had exactly the same thing happen to me today and to say I was not impressed is an unserstatment. Is there a down side to having a raised profile?0
