I've just had a really good experience with cs staff. It was only meat (pork steaks and a basted chicken) to around £15 but they were so nice about it I almost felt guilty. The CS lady apologised that she had to call someone from Pricing as they'd had a few problems and the staff were confused by the price changes and she was fussing cos nobody was answering her call. Finally a man came - again apologising for keeping me waiting - and took me off to the shelves. He explained what had gone wrong, said it was there fault entirely and showed me the different barcodes - which he said customers weren't expected to read. He said it was clearly a misprice in both cases, took me back to CS and said I should have a full refund.

As a matter of interest, he said that sometimes the tills are adjusted to take account of the lower prices per kg (which is news to me) - he got his calculator out and worked out the prices on the pork. I didn't get asked for my name or anything and the whole thing was handled really well. I was impressed - so much so that I'll be back there as soon as I can!

Its a pity some staff take it as a personal affront when they have to do an r&r - my earlier run ins put me off a bit but I've got a second wind now.

Finally got a call this afternoon from CS in Dundee who said I could go to the store and get my full refund! A result!

Manager came down and had been on this forum and identified me from the details I'd posted. He'd gone to the trouble of printing out some of my posts and meticulously cut them out and put them in his shirt pocket. He accused me of making a false statement on here when I said the Prey poster is 2 weeks out of date. Unfortunately it is 2 weeks out of date as everybody on here will no doubt testify - this week's Game Of The Week is Test Drive Unlimited, last week's was Saint's Row and the week before that was Prey. I always check my facts carefully and would never make false statements like that.

He questioned me about the high balance of my Clubcard account (it's 7000 points) and I explained that I've bought a few of the Panasonic Hi-Fi systems with the 1000 bonus points on them and then sold them on, which is a perfectly legitimate thing to do and if Tesco don't want people to have so many points they shouldn't offer 1000 bonus points on items. I should also have told him that I got a few thousand points from Tesco Personal Finance, as I've put a large amount of business their way.

He also referred to one of my older posts on here and asked me which store I'd got the other Xbox R+R from. It was a rhetorical question to let me know he knew I'd done it before.

It was amusing to see some of the other staff gather nearby in a huddle to listen in on the conversation. Maybe this has been a hot topic of conversation in the staff canteen.

Although the manager was friendly over the whole matter, the whole charade was clearly designed to initimidate me. It's just a shame he had to stoop as low as spying on my Clubcard account. I'm sure that's not what the Clubcard scheme was designed for. Then again, maybe it was.

Why oh why do Tesco have such indignation towards R+Rs? They're the ones committing the criminal offences under the Consumer Protection Act by leaving misleading price indications on display. If they resent R+Rs on high value items so much, it would be far simpler for all concerned if they took more care over the posters on display next to the Xboxes.

Let me say that one more time, just for absolute clarity, as the manager will no doubt be reading this thread: Tesco are the ones breaking the law, not me.
