From what I can gather, CS is basically phoning the relevant stores and telling them that they have to refund. Some store managers are arguing it and still refusing to refund, which goes against company policy. This means it can take a little longer, as someone higher up the Tesco food chain then has to contact the store and insist they refund and follow the policy. CS/HO's official line on the PSP issue is that it is an overcharge (due to the wording of the POS) and therefore a refund should be given. The store shouldn't kick up a fuss when you return. If, however, they do, put in a complaint against them. If you get a dodgy CS rep at Dundee, ask to speak to Joanne Leith or someone else dealing with the issue. If they ask how you know her name, tell them that she's dealt with problems you've had in the past.
Hold in there, guys. You will get your refunds. I would advise anyone who bought a PSP or manages to buy one and still get overcharged not to bottle it and take a refund and give the item back. Stand your ground and leave the store with the item if necessary. You will get your refund, even though you may have to wait a short while for it.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I just want to say that all of the debate, advice etc after the PSP success has been a joy to read - no nasty remarks - all helpful good stuff.
You recent posters have been a credit to this community and I hope that the Mods (Hey Dudes!) have noted this welcome change in attitude.
And I hope that you newbies can get some more great misprices and publish these on the misprice thread - just go for it - if the 'wrong' price comes up just walk away as you've forgot your credit card/purse etc.
The kick I had the other night getting a PSP is nothing compared to the pleasure I'm getting reading you Dudes having success too.

I totally agree with this bit. I'm getting more of a kick out of others getting a free phone due to the Vodafone/Virgin poster than I did when I got my own £150 phone refunded. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I tried for the PSP last nite at 2 extra stores. One had paper covering the details of the GOTW, and no £10 off sign. The other removed the posters stating what DOTD was, but did have the £10 off sign and both items. Didnt even try with those0

Same here tried 5 tesco stores last night, they all had PSP and Tekkon in stock but the poster detailing offer had been removed. Nintendo DS still had poster up stating £10 off with game of the week.0

Plushchris wrote:I just looked back at the pic someone posted of that offer poster, it says "when you buy £20 airtime" not "A £20 top up"
In my book 2 £10 vouchers = £20 airtime
Could possibly get them on the wording!
sorry Im old school when it comes to PAYG mobiles tesco call them airtime I call them top up's
the offer is based on you buying £20 for that phone I expect, if you wanted to be really picky you could buy a £20 orange or tesco mobile top opps airtme voucher would the discount come off then?
I expect they have a deal set up with the phone networks offering free airtime vouchers but I dont think they can give them away so instead they are knocking the same value off the phone.0 -
I think it has more to do with the fact £20 OFF! draws eyes to the stand more than £20 worth of calls
I do agree signs should be worded better.0 -
After reading the last 20 posts or so I feel I have to say something about peoples' concern over their name/address details. Surely it is one thing when you get a jobsworth CS trying to intimidate you over a challenge of their Misprice policy and their pricing of goods but to feel intimidated about giving the correct name/address details is totally wrong. As long as I KNOW I am right about claiming an RnR because of the stores mistake I WILL quite gladly give my details if asked to do so. I don't have anything to hide, I'm just a regular customer. Stop feeling like criminals in this situation and hold your head up high. They are the ones in the wrong.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Still think their wording on that poster is very vague, you could for instance get a Vodaphone mobile and get a virgin top up card (If you got orange or 02 you wouldnt have a leg to stand on as they are not on the poster)
I would also argue the fact that I have bought £20 airtime in two £10 ones as I wouldnt use the phone much and would want to spread it over 2 monthsMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
