Tesco have no legal right to ask for your name/address...I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

As soon as you lie to CS it's YOU who are in the wrong. This is supposed to be about Tesco's errors.
So its ok for tescos to lie about their prices but not for me to lie about my address?
Because I dont want them building up a file on me or anything, or linking it to my clubcard.
And anyway, why do they want my name and address when its their error?
Not that I need to explain myself to you.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote:That's exactly what you do. If CS doesn't offer you a cheque, you'll have to go back to the store for the refund. CS will ring the store and tell them what they need to do. You are then free to pick up your refund at your convenience.
Brilliant, thanks for that. I'll give them a ring this afternoon.
I clicked the thanks button, but it just took me to the top of the page, so i'm not sure if it worked0 -
Incidentally, the PSP base unit wasn't included in the GOTW offer a while back, too. I remember someone on here posting that they'd been refused an R&R because the manager said the base pack wasn't a console! This was a good two to three weeks ago. I'd say that if there's no yellow SEL under the console, it's not included, therefore the discount won't come off when purchased with the GOTW even when the GOTW changes (unless Tesco HO finally do something about it!). I noticed yesterday that the white DS didn't have a yellow SEL either. To me, that would indicate that the white DS is a good bet for an R&R too. I haven't tried it, mind, so it's all at the buyer's own risk. However, you can get a full refund if the discount does come off. I'm willing to bet that HO hasn't sorted the problem out, so you should still be able to pick up a PSP base pack or the white value pack and GOTW without the discount coming off if either of them does not have a yellow SEL. Remember, this will only work if the store has up the "Save £10 When You Buy PSP or DS Console & Game Of The Week" POS.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I tried a similar thing yesterday, picked up the MarioKart DS bundle (£99.97) and the GOTW (brain training) the DS bundle had a white SEL so I thought Id give it go, unfortunately the discount still came off! :mad:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I'm asked for my name and postcode everytime I get a R&R in my local Tesco's. I did refuse once but was told if I didn't want to give my details I couldn't have the R&R. If they are building a picture, so what. It may show how often I get an R&R but it also shows how often Tesco have overcharged me.
I'm more surprised I haven't had a call from my Credit card company as to why everytime I go to Tesco I am also refunded at least half the cost :rolleyes:Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -

I havent had many R&R's in my local extra, But I am a marked woman. (I knew this following an attempted R&R on wrong SEL/packaging on some pork chops. The department supervisor called "her Buddy" of a Duty manager (also female) who said "I choose to over-rule the policy" then the two ladies left the Customer serivce desk shoulder to shoulder grinning an giggling at each other. Very happy that they had stopped my R&R.
Anyone have any good advice?
pinkpinkfizz i cant believe you stand for that crap! If i was you id call HO 0800505555 and say u want to make a complaint and tell them what happened. Make sure u include ALL details- how they grinned and giggled aswell and im 100% sure that HO will bring the book down on these two. Tell them these two made u feel intimidated and embarrased. You shouldnt have to put up with that in any store, and the manager cant just choose to over-rule the policy whenever he/she feels like, even if the managers discretion sign is up. HO will over-rule them every time if you complain.0 -

Stores would be better off not putting up the POS at all. However, this could cause a problem with the suppliers, as the promotions are part and parcel of a deal between the Tesco Buyers and the game Suppliers. Part of that agreement is to give extra advertising to the current Game of the Week, which the Buyers will have managed to get at a reduced price from the suppliers on condition that every store pushes that particular game with the relevant POS, etc. Suppliers do compliance checks, you know. If they find stores without the relevant POS up, they then complain to the Buyers, who then inform HO, which then gives the store a phone call about the missing POS.In a rut? Can't get out? I also went into the Harold hill store yesterday on my rounds, they had a massive range of DS games in there, by far the biggest range I've seen in any Tescos!
But thats probably because of one reason, NONE of the games (except chart titles) had prices on them or on the shelf! Surely they should have a price on display somewhere?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
