Is that a deffo R&R? Should I fight my corner? It was up twice in the store!
The POS says the discount is off the handsets. If you didn't get the discount, you have been overcharged on the phone (not the air time). It clearly says it on the poster, so I don't know how any manager can say otherwise. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Tescos Mansfield last night,
Found the PSP + GOTW poster up last night with £10 discount if bought together, so chucked it in with the shopping. I pointed this out to CS who immediately said 'it must be the wrong console as it just scans psp base' (poster said 'a psp console' and i had the psp basic pack). She asked the trolley lad who was there and he said 'yeah, thats definately a psp console'
So, she then started calling out for supervisors. One came and she said 'if the discounts not come off it must be the wrong console'. So, she went to the storeroom and came back with a stack of other PSP's and proceeded to scan these in one at a time until she hit the giga pack that the discount came off.
Then came up with, 'there, thats the one the discounts for'. No amount of trying to explain simple things like asking where it says that, and that they are all psp consoles but just different accessories included/colours would make her understand.
So she called the duty manager who said the exact same thing. The one that the discount came off must be the only one the offers on irrelevant to whether they are psp consoles or not, so tough to me. Apparently none of them knew what a 'psp console' is. Of course, if I wanted to refund my basic pack and buy the giga pack she was more than happy to do that, but would not budge on anything else. oh, she had the cheek to offer me £5 as a goodwill gesture, not even the difference lol.
No store manager, HO closed. I've never called HO before but will figure out what to say later if theres any advice.0 -

WTG Granny! You didn't spot me but I saw you rummaging through that steak till you found the treasure, I even heard you mutter bingo to yourself. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
So, you fell for my 'disguise', Ben? Amazing what a latex mask and Mrs Doubtfire boobs can do. Let's see 'em try and ban me now. :rotfl:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
Just a thought.... No offense directed at anyone !
Do you think, with all the grief ( ok, quite rightly so ) being sent HO's way, they are likely to get rid of this whole R&R thing ? Maybe, through our eagerness to get 'the big one', ( and yes, I've been there ! ) we're somehow going to loose out on getting 'anything' for nothing when they scrap the whole thing ?!0 -

No good ringing HO til 9am for PSP problems. They have two members of staff dealing with the problem who dont start til then. HTHWe took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -
Nice one yesterday!
Buffalo Airstation wireless router and ADSL modem, out of date SEL said "SAVE £30 - £59.97" but it scanned at £89.97
Full R&R given without prompting - the way it should be!
The lad serving me took the small SEL off the shelf after me showing it to him BUT LEFT THE BIG ONE UP!!! This was at the Roneo (SP) Extra store at Romford so anyone nearby be quick! (there were five or six left on the shelf)
Also got
Spyro season of ice for the gameboy - Sticker £12.94 scanned £19.99
King Kong for the DS - Sticker £19.94 scanned £19.99
Tony Hawks DS - Sticker £14.9? scanned £19.99
DragonballZ DS - Sticker £9.94 scanned £19.99
Again full R&R without prompting!
All the above were at Beckton Extra but I went back there after the CS desk shift change to find they had re-labeled most of the games with the handwritten red "Now £??.??" ones, so I dont think anyone will have much luck there now
And got
Kao Challengers PSP - Sticker £13.97 scanned £19.99
Not a bad day out really!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
normal wrote:Sad that the intimidation of some managers seems to have taken it's toll on me.
This seems to be a recurrent post that most of us are now experiencing.
I havent had many R&R's in my local extra, But I am a marked woman. (I knew this following an attempted R&R on wrong SEL/packaging on some pork chops. The department supervisor called "her Buddy" of a Duty manager (also female) who said "I choose to over-rule the policy" then the two ladies left the Customer serivce desk shoulder to shoulder grinning an giggling at each other. Very happy that they had stopped my R&R.
Last night I wasn't even shopping for myself, I was accompanying my daughter, and she purchased a new mobile phone. We had a wander around the store and she went and paid for her shopping, we went to the CS desk to collect the new phone and I was stunned as a guy (Duty manager) quickly appeared at the Csdesk on an internal phone and was so obviously talking about me/us. He couldnt hide it, his eyes were darting back and fore towards us. he was very un-discreetly trying to see what was on the receipt and to work out why we were at the desk. He came off his phone and came forward and said "What seems to be the problem here?" My daughter said "no problem just collecting a new phone" He then took the receipt of the desk and examined it, he then took one of the CS assistants away from the desk and stood down a side aisle and I can only assume warned her about Me. I would love to know how the conversation went! The cs assistant returned to her desk, she genuinely seemed embarassed. My daughter received her phone and we left.
I left that store feeling as though I am a marked woman! and have no desire to go back anytime soon. (thats if they would even let me over the door!!:rotfl: ) but I havent done anything wrong and I feel angry that they are going to get away with this intimidation.
Anyone have any good advice?pinkpinkfizz

I forgot to say, the guy on the checkout at Beckton made me mad yesterday!
That A-hole KNEW he was overcharging me for those games, I saw him do a double take on three out of the four (he didnt notice the first one) but I just pretended to be in a bit of a daydream and was looking out of the window. He didnt say a word!
Felt good getting the R&R on them but it left me wondering if the staff are told not to say anything?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
