  • Ystrad cs are excellent.. i picked up the wrong ones for the out of date coke cans and she pointed out the correct ones so i scanned those and they were over pirced so had £40 refunded last night. An i mentioned my "friend" had a mobile problem with an overcharge and he said "if trading standards caught us with out of date poss we would given fined thousands" western avenus said that completely wrong!!
  • argh! they have done it again. I keep getting over charged for stuff and NOT realising it till days later as I wasn't looking for it or fishing for it. Now I notice on an old reciept I have been over charged on a tin of beans (31p instead of something like 23p). I swear I am losing the battle over all when you work out how much I take from R&R and how much they take from me by overcharge.

    Does anyone else on here find that it is rare to have a reciept that is 100% right even if you arn't going for it?

    I know the Xbox thing has been done to death but wanted some advice. I have just bought a 360 plus Test Drive Unlimited as per the poster saying save £20 when bought with xbox 360 out of date POS.
    CS were lovely and offered to refund the game but I stood firm so they got the manager and he refused to R and R on the whole package.
    I politely walked away saying I would take it up with CS in Dundee.
    I have phoned CS and I am waiting on a call back from the person dealing with this.
    I have trawled through this thread but what can I expect them to say? I do have a photo of the poster if that will help my case.
    If I am unsuccessful I can always get full refund anyway although CS did mark my recepit by crossing through the game as she was gonna refund that until I objected.
    What do you experienced R and Rs reckon the outcome will be?

    Western Avenue should no better they get a regular kicking from HO over their attitude towards both r&r and customers, I don't think you will have any problems with r&r there, If they keep going they way they are it will only be a matter of time before they find themselves with a new manager. Which incidentally they need badly.

    Went into the Burton - on - Trent store yesterday. A4 stating the £20 discount on Virgin/Vodaphone PAYG phone when bought with £20 airtime. The offer expired 17/09/06. Purchased the phone and the credit in one transaction, collected the phone and then raised the problem with CS.

    Showed CS the display, and she spoke to someone who offered me the £20 discount. I politely refused, and stated that I should receive the full item as a refund. This was then taken up with the Deputy Manager - who refused to honour the policy and would only give me the £20 discount - as a gesture. This was on the basis that it said £99.99 on the SEL and was therefore charged correctly, that it didn't say the particular phone and mainly, the fact that the poster was out of date. I said thats not a problem and that I would contact HO to sort it out.

    Rang HO. First lady I spoke to - no help at all. Hadn't a clue what I was on about and I decided just to say thankyou very much and hang up and try and get someone else!

    Rang Back. Got to speak to someone called Russell. He agreed I was correct, and told me to ask the store manager to ring CS to get this sorted out. So I got off the phone and went back to the CS desk and told them the situation and said the manager had to call off. CS assistant went off, and 2/3 minutes came back saying the store manager refused to ring HO - if they want to contact him they need to ring. He is right and isn't going to listen to them.

    I ring back HO. Asked to speak to Russell, and was told that there were 4 Russells working in the department. After waiting 5 minutes on the end of the phone, I was transferred to the Croydon Online Store - I get the impression HO needs some computer training!!! I was eventually transferred back to HO, and spoke to someone who was at last helpful. They rang the store on my behalf, and spoke to the CS assistant. They spoke for a few minutes, and ended the conversation. I was told by the CS assistant that they were correct, and because the poster was out of the date that they didnt have to honour the policy. At this point, I gave up. Told them I wanted a full refund. The till froze whilst they were doing this - but eventually I got my refund.

    The CS assistant was very helpful in store, but the manager was just childish. I can't ring HO again surely and complain? I was correct that I should have been awarded R&R? Any help?

    This happened to me two weeks ago with the old mobile offer (20% off). I'm still waiting for an answer to my emails to Terry Leahy and Head office.

    They said it doesn't apply to leaflets or posters, it is only for mis prices on the product or the shelf. I argued this until I was blue in the face with both the store manager and Dave Sewell (who others have mentioned on here as being fair?)

    It's really annoying when one person is getting a refund as per their store and head office and others are given conflicting advice. I don't want to call and tell them this for obvious reasons.

    What else can we do? :confused:
    Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves
