  • Had the PSP console and GOTW bought and paid for in my sticky mits. Between checkout, console collection and CS someone removed the "save £10" signs. Clever. No R+R.

By the way, if they say no on the grounds that you accepted the game at R&R make sure you inform them that you did this as you felt under duress to either accept the offer given or get nothing.

I think it is fair to say that managers are putting customers under financial duress (accept this offer right now or get nothing) and so you feel that the agreement you made with the store manager is vitiated by the fact that you felt under duress and it has been less than 14 days since the agreement.

Understand that a contract is null and void if you feel it was made under duress and it is within 14 days of the event, understand also that you do not need to prove duress as it is enough that you felt under duress. You might want to explain that to Tesco HO as they might or might not be aware of it.

A bit of legal jargon for you all to get your heads round ;)

I'm just about to ring and try this....eek!

Is there anyone I should ask to specifically speak to within the CS desk?

OK - if you can find this sign: "£10 off when you buy a PSP Console and Game of The Week' then you are in.

Select the PSP Base Unit (149.97) and GOTW Tekken - yes it is actually game of the week as opposed to being the wrongly dated poster.

Both the GOTW and '£10' SEL have 21/9 as the expiry date.

The £10 discount will not come off.

Warning: - Don't be greedy and try the PSP Giga pack (£219.97) - as the discount will kick in.

Great fun with this last nite - had one CS lasy who didn't know what a PSP was - the Duty Mananger trying to argue that it was supposed to be £10 off the game - and a cool CS dude who kept agreeing with me and telling the manager "He's right you know".

    Quick call to HQ - 0800 505555 - R&R sorted.

Be quick Dudes - this offer ends today - get out there and grab some console action!

  • Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd let you know the latest re: my Xbox experience. I bought my package at the end of August when the POS was save £20 when bought with any console and game. The store in question would only offer me the £20 difference. Foolishly I accepted this, but kept hold of my purchases as well as making the duty manager aware that I would be taking the matter up with CS. Upon reading all the threads since I thought I had messed up my chance of an R&R as I had accepted the £20. However I decided to email CS anyway (with some encouragement from SmartSuit) as I thought I had nothing to lose.

So I emailed CS (with Sir Terry CC'd) Monday 18th Sept, explaining the situation & the fact that I had already been given a £20 refund but that I still expected the rest (so another £299.94) refunded (via cheque so they could not fob me off back to the store) as I had clearly been overcharged. The person who dealt with my complaint - Jaimie Smyth - replied yesterday (only 2 days after I sent my email) & advised that they were sorry I was unhappy with the level of service experienced & that the store in question had been advised of their poor CS skills. From her email it was also evident that she thought I had already returned the console & game. So I sent another email to her yesterday saying that in fact I still had the purchases in my possession & could she please authorise a R&R or pass the matter onto KK or JL. I received an email this morning confirming she had spoken to the store in question & that I could keep the products and either go to the store to receive my refund or they could send me a cheque in the post. I opted for the cheque (which will take 3-4 weeks) in case management are a bit funny & ban me should I go in :D .

So moral of the story - you have nothing to lose by emailing CS, & even if you have accepted the difference, this does not void your claim & you can still get a refund on the rest. I was also pleasantly surprised by the extremely fast response rate CS had in regards to my claim!

Apologies for posting such a long winded piece of text but I thought it might be of use to others who are contemplating whether to contact CS or to just get a refund. Good luck to all those out there who are still waiting on decisions. But it would appear as if Tesco CS are willing to rectify and honour the R&R which vigilante managers are refusing in store, so hang on in there.

Thanks for letting us know bambam. It's always good to hear the outcome. Glad you're finally getting the refund - there now seems to be a precedent that they'll always give the R+R eventually if we pursue it long enough.

Cheers to the dude for inspiring me to rush to Tesco this morning

Alas my local store is pretty on the ball so no sign stating a £10 discount

But as i walked by the mobile phones the elusive vodaphone or virgin £20 discount poster was still on display :rotfl:

The most expensive phone in stock was the motorola v3 so it seemed rude not to buy one with the £20 top-up of course:cool:

A lovely lady at cs accompanied me to the phones and reading the sign she said "oh dear" and spoke to the store manager who was already on the shop floor. Result full r&r of £99.99 and given with a smile :D

Now who can i ring and tell them about it ? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Tried an R&R today Tesco Finest Mince 440g Pack £2.15 SEL £1.97.
CS stated that since the price was correct on the pack he could only refund difference. I pointed out the large blue sign behind him but still told the correct price was on the pack. In a rush so didn't argue, told them to keep their mince!
  • how do you buy the £20 top-up?? is there a dvd case for it or do u have 2 ask at the till for 1???

Shame as I've just got back from local store with 3 packs of the above mince, and full R&R. Looks like Chilli for tea tonight....:T
