  • Hello all you happy non smokers!I've got a question - I think for TNG, but possibly for others too.I'm nearly all the way through the Neil Casey book and he says that you don't need to set a date etc. and that it will just happen naturally.Could I ask if that has been your experience?Ta!BB

I just got all inspired by Mintymoneysavers "offer for a DFW" thread so I thought I would post this offer here for all you DFW SFWs:

I have a NEW copy of Allen Carr's book Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

It will go to the first person to PM me, and like Mintymoneysaver, I will pay the postage.

Wasn't my experience, Boatie. I waited and could sense something was happening/changing, but I did have to make the concious effort to say "right, that's it" after a week or ten days. Once I had done that, I have to say it was a doddle.....

Best wishes - it might happen for you, but if you haven't stopped after a week of doing the visualisation and stuff, set a date for very soon after that

Rich - sounds like a good night :rotfl:

Hi everyone, I had stopped smoking for 5 weeks, but I have had realtionship problems and started again :(:( . ( I know, no excuse) Things are mostly sorted with the bf now and I feel strong enough to stop once again. I have only been smoking for over a week again but I really hate it. The smell, standing freezing outside to smoke ( i live in Scotland), the way my money dissapears so quickly when I am smoking, and mostly wanting to be the fittest I can be (not had a good health history so far).

So tomorrow is my quit day!!

I feel really angry at myself for starting again, as I was just getting to the point where i didn't miss it and was finding it quite easy to not think about it or want one. Good luck to everyone planning to quit and well done to everyone who has stopped. You are all my inspiration to kick the habit!!! :T

TNG,Yes, it was a good night thank you. Am paying for it today though. Also, I can't think why, having spotted my errors, I couldn't just correct them rather than point them out using forward and backward slashes. One of life's great mysteries I guess!

Boatie Bird, I stopped with Neil Casey. No I didn't stop naturally. I, like TNG, had to make a concious decision but once I did found it relatively easy to stop.

Bellie, don't worry, these things happen. At least it's only a week and you feel ready to stop again. I started again during exams like an idiot and it took months before I stopped smoking again. We're still here to support you in stopping smoking. Don't feel angry with yourself, sometimes life deals a blow! And next time something happens, you'll know better what to do instead of having a cig!

Good luck everyone, and sorry for irreverant comments last night/this morning!
