    Hiya all quitters.
5 weeks now since I quit. Pleased with myself, but not feeling too good.
Been using niquiten 4mg lozengers. I know the side effects are dizziness - which I've got. But also feel ill - flu like. Maybe it's withdrawal symptoms but after 5 weeks I'm not so sure.
Stop smoking nurse is not being of much help, says if symptoms don't improve see my GP, but advised keep using the Niquiten. (I'm only using max 5 per day).
Think I've answered my own question - will make appointment with GP tomorrow. Could just be a bug I've got.
    Otherwise I don't want a smelly fag!!:j
    Thanks for your support here

I think there is a bit of a cold going round so could be that. Then again you dont wanna take the chance of it being the niquitin, so make sure you do nip in to see the doc just to make sure :)

Everyone on here's doing so well as far as I can tell, keep it up guys!

    Hello Don'tskipit

Nicotine addiction is one of the mildest there is, so I think you have a bug. I used the Alan Carr book method and after his enlightenment I realised that the only 'withdrawl' is from the nicotine telling my head that MUST MUST MUST, which once ignored went pretty quick.

Well done getting this far and keep it up!!

Welcome! I used that book and it worked for me, so fingers crossed for you. Read it carefully and thoroughly, and follow all of the rules. Read it again if it doesn't work first time. Don't be put off by its repetitiveness - that's all part of how it works! In my case, it paid for itself in the time it took to read it.

Stick with us - we are a lovely, helpful bunch so you will get lots of support.

    Thanks all.

Been to GP .It's only just a virus I've got that's going around, I can put up with that!!
Thought it might be something to do with nicotine withdrawal and/or Niquiten.

Dr. was really made up with me quitting, really encouraging, a real pat on the back to me from him. Cheered me up me up no end.

Keep at it all of us :T

Well done to everyone who has tried.....hope you can answer a question for me: If you were very unhappy, not sure if your long-term marriage was going to continue, fed up, depressed, unsure about yourself and everything in your life and knew there would be no support from home, would you have attempted giving up even tho you knew you should and wanted to try???
